Does anyone know if they allow dogs at the boxing day races in Wanganui?

Only ask as my folks have a dog they love more than me so they need to know.

Don't do it mate.

Large crowds are not an appropriate place for dogs IMO.

Even if the dog can handle it, (crowd and noise) many people are afraid of dogs and placing one in close proximity to them is not really fair.

Their poor little ears.... they are much more sensitive than ours... why would you want to do that?

Bikes and 15000 people is enough to freak them out! What happens if they break loose???

However that is my personal opinion, to answer your question, I would pm Her_B4 - she will 100% know the answer to your question...

If they love the dog more than you - they will be concerned about its hearing. Dogs have more sensitive hearing than humans and some frequencies from motor racing may disturb or damage the dogs hearing. I have seen dogs ignore most bikes then go apeshit at one that obviously upsets them, maybe its hurting their ears???

Seeing as how Wanganui is turning into a dirt bike event maybe dogs will feel at home, just like on the farm ?!!!

Seriously , OMGOD!............... NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! G.

It is stated on page 3 of the 'Entry Application Package', downloadable from MNZ website, that 'Pets are not permitted - please leave them at home'

A mutt going crazy, ditching its owner and running on to the track would not be a desirable scenario.
