Hi Rebelgirl, welcome to KB!
Shame you are a wee bit away, but we do occasionally head up your way, so watch out for rides posted in the events and meets area. As the others have said you just missed an awesome weekend at Parnassus, but there will be others.
Just get out there and ride, you'll meet other local people if you are out there.

Welcome Rebelgirl. Im up here in Tauranga, am dying to get down your way again sometime. Learned to ride between Chch and Hokitika some 22 years ago on a Norton, love the SI riding. Great to see another chick take up riding. We have some newbie chicks up here to who are doing really really well. If you want to improve your riding tenfold, do a friendly non competitive track day, you will go ahead in leaps and bounds. Keep in touch love to help as much as I can over cybaspace. :2thumbsup

Welcome! I've just learned to ride too (got my full this week) and am finding my feet in the KB world. I've done the ride from Chch to Kaikora once, it is fantastic and I'm keen to do it again. It's not too difficult, I just took it slowly, stopping a few times along the way to stretch my legs. Feel free to contact me (pm your number and I'll phone you) :mobile: if you are looking at venturing this way and would like to meet up or have a safe haven to recuperate in for the return ride. :apint:

Keep your eye out for Nelson rallies, that might be another opportunity to plug in with some Catabrian KB's for a ride. ~

Cool to see you guys connecting. How far is it from Chch to Kaikoura? Ive forgotten its been a while. You have some awesome roads down there you guys, and not nearly the amount of traffic as we do, its motorcycling heaven :innocent:

About 2 - 2 1/2 hours if you keep to speed limit, roughly.

Think thats about right, we left about 1030 and got there about 1230 for the kb staging post thing

Hi there, I'm Max and I'm in Nelson. PM me and I can meet you in Blenheim for a hook-up if you're keen, and maybe bring a couple of other women riders along with me. If you're up for riding as far as Hanmer, let me know as I'll be down there with a bunch of friends early April for the weekend and it might be a good chance for you to get to know some other riding women. I come to Kaikoura regularly with my husband, although usually not on the bikes because he's into scuba and has to carry his gear. Get in touch, and we can take it from there.

Anyway, rebel girl, well done you, for getting two wheels matey, I have 2 top chick friends both based in Nelson, neither are KBer's so if you like and are heading up there, pm me matey and I shall give you their cells, to see if they can hook up with you.

The Nelson rallies a hoot, I normally take a few days for that one, but if you venture down as far as Queenstown, there's shit loads of bikers down here......and look out for a big thread about a Queenstown Rally next year, you might want to make a holiday out of it, once you get your confidence

Have fun dudess:niceone::rockon:
