Ahhh, imagine a sort of Dutch cheese sausage (like a cheese sizzler, but not cheap n nasty tasting) about the size of your index finger that tastes shit hot no matter how you cook em! Your local supermarket will have them... perhaps even by bulk in the deli :)

If you're in Chch, you can get them directly from the factory shop cheap cheap

Mmmmm, sossidge.

I shall have to stock up on the aforementioned Kransky! It's good shit.

Come to think of it, I had some rather nice sossidge at Wildfire (http://www.wildfirerestaurant.co.nz/) last night. The place comes highly recommended.

Ah, the joys of gluttony; my second-favourite capital sin.

So what is your favorite capital sin?

I take it to be sloth since you couldn't bother typing the top-7... ;)

Good heavens. A "normal" kransky contains a gazillion kilojoules and is a fat-carrying Tardis. A larger version sounds like a sizzling coronary. Yum...

Actually, no, it's lust. Sloth's in third place.

I find the remaining ones rather negative on my karma, and worthy of treating as addressable personal shortcomings rather than life goals like the top three.

Anything that tastes that good can't be good for you!
They are really yumm sliced up in a pasta.

So where do I go for these Kransky things Imdying?

Just to Verkerks on Manchester?

:spudwhat:

Like Mrs Kendog said, Kranskys are great for pasta. They make great salads, too - slice them up and use them where you'd use chicken, then go to town with Kaitaia Fire or another quality chilli sauce.

Taste explosion!

:D

Just to Verkerks on Manchester?Yep, there or the factory shop on Vagues road, and I believe they're in supermarkets this week. Alternatively, there's a Dutch Reformed Church on Cornwall st where the owners go... :innocent:

As far as a little sausage goes... they can't be beat! Some like them fried or BBQ'd, I find 5 minutes in water in the microwave suits me fine

So the paraphrase... exercise, eat and rest? I see no problem with that

I thought you meant the Kransky sisters, and was about to wax lyrical about their jolly humour.

But here you lot are waxing lyrical about snags.

Yes, that's more or less how it goes.

Ahhh...

Actually I'm not convinced these new larger versions will be better. I think some of the deliciousness of the wee things come from their size. A good ratio of skin to filling. Or whatever.

I'll have to buy a few kg for a proper appraisal, however.

You're right.

Just like a can of V is alot nicer than a large bottle.

No way. V should always come from a glass bottle. As should coke. Although a can is a close second if correctly chilled.

Amen about the V from a bottle but reckon Coke tastes better from a can...seems to be fizzier and holds it's fiz longer...MIght be something to do with the aluminium...which apparently leaches into the liquid and can cause alzheimers...wait what am I doing here anyway?

Correct. Glass just makes things better. Although glass Vs do increase sprung weight on the Coro GP.

If only they made can-sized glass bottles. Winnar!

Small things do usually taste better; see pipis/cockles for an example.

MMM I had Kransky in my pasta last night! Only problem was it was too tempting all cut up ready to go in the pasta and I eat most before the pasta was done

And "V" is better in a bottle as there is more of it!

If only they made can-sized glass bottles. Winnar! They call that Red Bull! Although Red Bull now comes in the reverse... a 355ml can FTMFW!!!!!!!! :first:

My favourite way to prepare a good cheese Kransky is to slice then up and fry them in butter till they a re just about burnt. At this point there is absolutely no "nutritional value".

I like my Kranskys just heated up, on an antipasto platter accompanied by a variety of yummy cheeses, artichoke hearts, capper berries, ham, sundried tomatoes...with a glass of Cabernet Merlot and good company.

There is nothing like the taste of all these delicacies coming back up your nose because you're laughing too much :Punk:

a glass of Cabernet Merlot...

Tut. Such over-worked, boring varietals.

We must sit down and work our way through something more interesting some time soon.

On another note, if you're ever hanging out for a taste of home, pop into Maison Vauron (http://www.mvauron.co.nz/) just around the corner from my office. I'll come along; the proprietor seems to like discounting wine for me...

salads? SALADS!

HTFU !!!

Just eat the meat (let it go) and leave the green stuff to the girls and tree hugging hippies.
