Whats the going rate for pilot powers?

(or a pair of good sports bike tyres.)

I just got given a price of $670 for pilot powers fitted.

Seems expensive, I usually try to stay under $550 for a pair of hoops...

bay city motorcycles in Tauranga. $480 fitted worth the ride down and not a bad ride either.

$670 is way too much. I wouldn't pay more than $550.

on ya. Not all tyres are created equal. I took a metzler Z4 deal at $400 for 2 and they are "ok" Not super confident with them but they arent really bad. Probably suit a bit more of a criusing style to be honest.
I usually run Pilot Roads which are fantastic. PP disappear too quick.

north of $550 and you gotta be shopping around but I guess that is why you started the thread in the first place.

I love this fitted shit.

I mean hows the conversation go.

You pull in to Cycletreads canvas and wires showing through the tires.......

Could I please have a new set of tires...... why thank you. Could you pop them in a bag for me I am just heading home to fit them?

Its like airlines who advertise $5 dollar flights but then add on 295 dollars of taxes, but its not a 300 dollar flight its a 5 dollar flight with "taxes".

Call apples apples.

If your skint you can probably save yourself $30-$50 by taking the wheels off yourself and bringing them in. I agree that most riders wouldn't actually fit the tyres to the rims themselves.

Or you just go to the same tyre shop for 15 years, and they pickup the bike for free and flag the fitting cost... Loyalty rocks...

First I ring around for a quote - then take wheels off myself at home - have new rubber fitted - then reinstall myself - result best price, wheels lined up properly, chain adjusted properly, all nuts and bolts properly tightened and no damage from rushed tyre fitters
