Hi Crew, well things are going so well for me, that I really do not understand it, apart from my usuall attitude of, if you try hard enough, you will succeed!

So, I am here to talk with all the people that financually and moraly supported me and my family through my IOM TT crash this year

I AM GOING BACK WITH THE SAME BELIEFE AND FOCUS I HAVE EVER HAD BUT WITH A DIFFERENT ATTITUDE TO THE WHOLE OF LIFE NOW

please read a snipit out of an email to me regarding a race programme we are working on at the momenet for next year

Finnegan as far as I know is not on an MV for next year, so there is a very slim chance of me being able to get a bit of help from the factory if I took an MV to the island, it's certainly worth making a call and asking but they will want to know who the rider is and what I expect to achieve. They cut us some slack this year in bsb and we achieved more than they expected…..unfortunately this means for 2008 they want us to win the championship and would only possibly accept a top 3 finish from us by the end of the year if we didn’t win…….so the pressure is most definitely on for us next year and I would expect them to regard the TT with the same type of expectation, to achieve a higher result on the second visit than the first. With that kind of pressure and expectations potentially on us I need to make sure that we can stand a chance of delivering as a team and also for you as a rider.

This is a piece from Chris, the team owner that I am working with for the TT next year, he will be trying very hard for me!

Now just to get one here, and get going on it, to learn as much about it as possible, and the Conti tyres I hope to race on over there!

Are you sure it's the community you need permission from? I admire your courage and your skill, but what does the family think?

Cheers to one and all so far here:clap:

Re permission, YES Fiona my wife is aware this is happening, not 100% happy, as would be expected, but as per usual, full of love and support for me and my goals!

We have discovered a major part of my mind set difficulties of late, are due to the fact that I had retired as a racer, I am a petrol head, and will always be a petrol head, so now I have addmitted to myself that bikes are my life, I have made my life BIKES from now on , Simple really. I love them, and the community like on here:clap:

You do not need the permission of this "community". You have the skills and dedication to stand on the podium at IOM. Clear and simple.

Please, however, make sure you have your loved ones' support, 100%, as this will be of more relevance and importance...

All the best mate!!

Well. What do you say.

It's with mixed emotions I consider your decision Shaun. Firstly is fear. Fear of the uncertainty such a venture will cause. Especially to someone who I respect above all others in the racing community for what you have given me, taught me and shown me how to realise for myself. I was litteraly sick when I heard of your crash this year and I couldn't get you on your phone. Speaking to your family and friends here showed how many people felt the same and reinforced the severity of the situation.

Secondly I feel excited for you. You're persuing what is your dream and the texts I got from you when you were on the Isle last show how much you are meant to be there doing what you do best, kicking arse. If there's at all a possibility, I'll be standing next to you in the pits polishing the bike and grinning from ear to ear. I tried to give up bikes completely 9 years ago after a horific crash myself and lasted 4 months in a cage. We're motorcyclists first and formost, allways will be.

You're a nutter Shaun. With basket ball sized kahunas.

You have my 100% support. But you knew that. Peace man, do what it takes.

To come back from a bin of that magnitude in such a short space of time & want to get straight back on the horse says a hell of a lot about you as a person...

I personally don't get the whole racing thing really, don't have that competitive drive. But having also shattered my pelvis and many other bits crashing a bike, I know what it's like to try quittin bikes only to be driven mad by the neeeed to get back on. Your a biker, it's who you are, and your a racer, it's what you do. You don't need anyone's permission to carry on doing what drives you in life. If you worked in a factory and a crate fell on your head, no one would question you returning to work at the factory, so why should they question you returning to racing bikes?

Hat's off to your wife, she must really love you for who you are.
Go hard Shaun, may you acheive all you want, and may you come home safe.

just a thought/idea, you should reserve space on something like the tail piece, and make it a $100 or more donation to sign on a small spot of it, taking kiwi names round the TT.
However, I don't know if you'd get more sponsor ship money from company names on it.. hasn't something like that been done before?
