Hi. I've been lurking for a few weeks and thought it time I said hello. So, 'Hello'.
I've just bought my first set of motorised wheels to take me where my assorted pushbikes won't, while leaving the dreaded cage in the drive. I did the 6L thing and have gone for a used Vespa GT 200 so I should be able to keep up with the traffic most of the time...
Some might doubt my sanity, but I'm picking up from Palmy N on the 30th and riding back. I'll be taking my time over two days with lots of breaks and proper equipment.
Any recommendations on route are welcome, by the way. I reckon SH1 might be a pain, but at least I know it fairly well between Auckland and Taupo. What's SH4 like heading up from Wanganui, for example? I could break that route at Taumaranui. Going to Taupo via Napier looks like a big detour, but might be OK if the roads are worth it.
See you around
