What lengths do you go to for kids' prezzies?

Well after much searching, fighting for on trade me, aranging collection and 2 days of painting and creating stickers on the computor we think we will have one VERY happy 4 year old on Christmas day.

What is the biggest length you have ever been to for the right present?

Thats art! :first: Staying at mums at the moment, she bought a BBQ, as usual needs assembly. I can do this I said, open instructions cant make any sense of them, none of the parts are labelled. Start trying assembly, cant figure it out, so drive into Mitre 10 in town to view said BBQ in the showroom. Took instructions and wrote down lots of notes. Spoke with a young shop guy there who discovered as we crawled all over this thing that the guy who had assembled the one in the shop also got it wrong, that helps. Got back to mums and a couple of hours later (and one nut short so back to the shop) I am proudling standing in front of a fully completed BBQ. Best christmas present I could give my old mum was my time and patients we will use it tomorrow night.

Extraordinary lengths for my kids to have a good Christmas!
I remember when I had two tenths of f*** all in the way of $$ (still do actually) and bought a couple of old bikes 2 nd hand. I spent hours sanding them down, making the chrome shine and repainting them so my kids could have decent pressies under the tree.
The look on their faces was priceless and worth every minute of the tiime I put into them.
Well done, that looks awesome and I'm sure your young'un will have hours of fun with it.

Most of the stickers were faded so remade them on the computor. The petrol station ones were the only ones still looking new. Someone must have written to the petrol stations at some point I would think and got a whole bunch. They still looked so new I left them there.

We usually put alot of time and effort into prezzies at christmas but it is not about the money. This garage is a great example. Not alot of time but exactly what he wants. Hopefully it will be something that he will keep and pass on to his kids.

The oldest is getting tools. The comment on the card will be "now you can F****KN leave mine alone' from his dad. He is 11 going on teenager!!!!
