Hi everyone,
Ive been trawling the forums a short while now, I can finally change my Profile to include a bike now. Thanks to Phil at DAS in chch who sold me the bike on behalf of another local.
The bike was a black and yellow version, the yellow did not appeal so I have vinyled the offending bits, Im looking forward to hooking up with the chch guys for some adventure riding.
future wants:drool:

Welcome to KB. Pitty you werent on here 24 hours ago - we went for a ride through Lees Valley today.
Was that the six days (ISDE) LC4 they had in at DAS? You got a steal if it was.
Keep an eye on the adv section for rides in the new year.

Nice.
Similar to mine, I think.
I geared mine down a bit, added a comfort seat (which is a bargin) and I've got some bar risers to install, but it's pretty standard and I loves it.

I did see that, I have done that in a 4x4 would have been a great day..

Thats a good looker, the red is alot better than the yellow, what effect does gearing it down do? (noob question alert)
did Comfort seat add any height? I really can not afford another mm as I'm a only whopping 1.72m and on tip's only already

Careful - that bike is Lemans from on here :D
The lower gearing helps with lower speed technical off road riding.

The comfort seat is slighty shorter, I think.
Only a $180 odd, too.
The gearing change (three teeth smaller on the back) makes it more responsive off road and through the middle range.

Dont you mean three teeth BIGGER on the back (I presume it has been geared down?)

Welcome Mate! Fine choice of motorcyce! I've put 1200km on my 03 in the last few days after not having it for a couple of months while it was being fixed up after the sheep incident, & man it was good!

The dirty bastards put most KTM parts prices up last year, that seat is now $240 ish, but still a good buy. I use my 640 on road a bit more than Oscar so I usually run 16/40 gearing & swap on a 14 front for trail rides etc.
The Advrider/Thumpers LC4 index is a great resource, take some time to have a read of it.
Cheers

Don't worry, once you get more used to it you'll be able to estimate the time better :2thumbsup

Hope I can't see the problem.
6 minute trip in a car or walking does equals 1 1/2 hour bike trip.
I'll try, yes I can see the shop, just from the gate.
Gear on, hop on bike, around the hills stop for a drink, to the shop, home.
It's when you go missing for 1 1/2 hours and still get home with out the milk you are in the shit.
