View Full Version : Praise for Holeshot Motorcycles

I've been been most improvident, putting 1200km on Betty over the weekend after picking her up without really considering the consequences thereof.
Realising, rather belatedly, that continuing to thrash her around the North Island for another couple of thousand kilometres over the next week without performing the scheduled 1000km service might not be a good idea, and also realising that I'm a complete numpty with a spanner, I made a few desperate phone calls this morning.
After a few minutes of rising panic, I got around to calling Holeshot, and guess what?
They immediately agreed to take Betty in and service her, on Christmas Eve, at zero notice. I suspect that the workshop guys are going to go home later today as a result.
I dropped her off an hour ago, and they cheerfully chucked me the keys to the Mighty GS500 Loaner to continue on my merry way and complete my day's business, too.
I am most impressed.
For what it's worth, Holeshot will be getting all my parts (first order: one front brake lever :crybaby:) and servicing business for Betty from now on.

You didn't ever do any Holeshot-derived test rides, didja?
They're a great dealer, and I wish I'd bought my last bike from them (I nearly bought a VFR from them, after test-riding several bikes, but the vifferbabe vetoed the purchase).

See my "picking Betty up from Huntly" thread. Took her to Cape Reinga and back on the weekend, all good, up on the centerstand in the driveway to lube the chain last night, stood alongside and popped her off the stand, she fell away on the other side. D'oh.
Lesson learned about straddling big-arse bikes before taking them off centerstands!
Holeshot said they'd have her ready at 3pm. My throttle hand is itching to tear up some tarmac tonight with 1400 cubic centimetres of torque on the way to the forests of azure.
SEXYTIME!

There's something not right about this thread, almost as if someone was praising a bike shop.
I wonder if I stepped into a parallel universe when I left the toilet cubicle earlier?

Betty has been retrieved from Holeshot. They were complimentary of my "pour on five gallons of goo then flick it with a rag" chain lubing technique; apparently the chain's stretched less than GSX1400 chains usually do in the first 1,000km.
Swung straight by Motomail thereafter and picked up my Christmas present from Stickchick (a pair of Motoline throwover panniers).
Just stuffing the bags with some... stuff, and then I'm hitting the highway for a week of two-wheeled goodness.
:woohoo:

Awww, aint that the true spirit of Christmas - cue the schmaltzy american movie music. You could make a fillum about such sickening good will and service. This terrible habit afflicting our miserable nation must cease and desist forthwith!!

Good show, Holeshot. Good to hear :)
Mr jrandom, already laying down your shiny new lady? You were lucky it was only the brake lever. Err... it was only the brake lever that got damaged, right?
I'm sorry, my confidence in your ability to... err... care for that lovely machine is just shot to pieces. I feel terrible having to do this, you know, but you'd better pass me the keys, there's a good fella... :pinch:

You're in the antiverse.
I found every shop I dealt with when shopping for my bike great. Might have been something to do with being a cash buyer... Maybe the ever increasing number of bikers out there means they're realising good service brings in $$.
The boys next door sorted my 1000km service out on Friday while I had breakfast and nosied around Cycletreads. Very happy to have that out of the way before xmas.

OK - while we're in the AntiverseZone - I'd like to put in a plug for Motomail. I visted there twice (two (2) times) recently, and the service was exemplary.:niceone:
And entertaining!
And helpful!
Thanks for my new jacket!
WOOHOO and all that!

Thats what the word service means,in retail even xmas eve is another day, that is what is meant by retail, albeit the hours for workshop could mean they had no major jobs on,just being ready to do jobs like yours,or small ones.Probably the workshop guys would finish say mid arvo, whatever good to hear positives about the bike shops. And power of word of mouth is evident here.
