any fan of honda (or going fast) and older than 23 should remember troy corser, steve hislop and joey dunlop winning plenty of races on the rc30 racebike. the vfr400r nc30 is an almost exact down-sized replica of that award winning streetbike.
shes had a fair bit of work, with velocity stacks, full drafted stainless exhaust system and carbon muffler (been tuned for best power), braided brakelines in front, braced 4-pot caliper in the rear (she goes and stops!!) and high-flow sparkplug leads.
low kms, VERY well looked after, just had a service and clean and brand new sparkplugs.
have a haynes manual to go with the bike.
check trademe for pics, under same title, with black red and white fairings.
genuine offers call or txt 0211120137.

cheers!

ps..interested in trading for bigger bike, after a gsxr1100 in particular but trx850s, tl's (S and R models) or anything big and rad.

Vary nice machine, no doubt about it.

Question, what's the logic behind increasing the rear stopping power?

Do these mods make a difference worth spending the money on?

Where did you get the velocity stacks and exhaust system from?

I find ditching the pillion and wearing ear plugs makes my VFR go much faster

Its still a lot of money for an nc30. IMHO they are worth it, but the market says otherwise.

at 5,200 it makes my nc35 look like awesome value :D

I should hurry up and stick it on tardme...

the total increase in HP is somewhere around 6HP (stock standard is about 63 at the crank), at slightly lower revs. velocity stacks were from a company in england as far as i've been told, i didn't add all the mods. just had it tuned and new sparkplugs added. it really does go like a cut cat and sounds incredible from whoa to go.
as for the 4-pot on the rear wheel..not to sure. but the front brakes are totally incredible and i assume the previous owner wanted to make it a little more.
i would consider the reserve on the trademe auction but i've seen vfrs with higher kms and bog standard go for more in private sales.
she really handles sweet too..cut my teeth on this girl getting my knees down, but maybe i should invest in kneesliders as tarmac eats through jeans..

good point trash i don't use them that often, could nt keep off the things round taupo, bad habbit!!!!!

in saying that though good rears have saved me on the road....turned into a street on open road....ran very wide...target fixation on the 4wd i was heading at....

shit shit....stonked the brakes including rear..... doing approx 70-80kph....

rear locked up and slid sideways pointed me straight up the road.....let them off and kept going straight, if i didn't have/ hadnt jumped on rear brakes i wouldve been a gonner.

buti would be interested to see why he grunted them up considering it's very easy to lock up the rear on any bike.

i don't get it either. i haven't had a problem with them personally..the front brakes are that good that i hardly use the back anyway. force of habit skidmarx, one that should be broken? haha!
i'm really looking to move on from this bike, shes been great but i've been bitten by the dragbike bug..
