Well i made myself look like a right cock at wanganui! I had struggled with the track a bit and got 15th in the formula wanganui and 15th in the memorial, thats when I decided to follow nicks lead and do a wheely for the crowd.... well ha ha i hadnt realised when i was racing that my steering dampner had come off during the race so when i pulled a wheely and turned my bars it jammed! its a scary feeling when you know when you put the front wheel down your gonna crash!
Anyways im sure the crowd loved it and i have a broken collar bone and have ruined my nationals campain but please feel free to rub it in more i sure as hell deserve it!
oh and by the way that is not just same lame excuse id be the first to say i just fucked up and in a way i did cause i crashed after the race

You weren't the first, and you won't be the last. Shit happens - at least you were out there doing it !!

Oh shit, that was you?!
We were over the other side but heard it on the tannoy.
Poor bugger! At least it was component failure not rider error. Some small consolation.

The big question is Sloan, was it a good wheelie till it went pear shaped?

Anyone get it on film, so it can be immortalised on the Internets?
Gutting to hear about your season dude.

Ouch, know how that shoulder feels, heal up quick. Murphy of course was quite quite clear on this subject; if yer gonna fuck up it will ALWAYS be in front of a crowd and the greater potential for disaster the bigger the crowd. Managed to achieve this kind of status myself a time or two (e.g. sitting beached at the hairpin and watching the entire field, including the two I lapped, go past after having led the race by 8 secs and deciding to do a few slides for the flaggies........yep the hairpin grandstand was full:doh:).
Stuff up or not, I am sure you will agree it sure beats sitting in the grandstand listening to the "experts".

mate, thats fucken metal
Did you kinda just think "... fuck," you know, the whole feeling you get when you know its gone wrong, and you cant save it, being afraid has kinda worn off so you just end up with that mildly agitated and un-impressed look on your face as you go down...
Sorry to hear bout the bin though, Heal up quick and get back out on the track bro!

The people that take the piss probably can't wheelie in the 1st place, don't let it bother you.
Like previously mentioned, shit happens.

Sorry but I cant help but laugh every time I read this thread. Don’t get me wrong im not laughing at you, it just that this sort of shit has happened to me so many times its not funny (for me anyway).
I always say … “if your going to fuck up in spectacular fashion make sure theres a big crowd so at least someone can enjoy it” mind you ive never done it with t.v camera on me haha.
Just be glad the “It's moments like these you need Minties” ads aren’t running anymore.
Rest that collar bone dude, they can be a real fucker.
BTW wheelies ARE big and clever …. But maybe next time do a burnout and keep em both on terra firma just in case :bleh:

Harden up! First round of the nats is 3 weeks away, plenty of time for a collarbone to heal. Muppet
