New Race Track.

Do you see race tracks where ever you look? I do,I'm a dreamer,I see myself racing everywhere....On the road I'm the lost MotoGP star...I woulda been famous,but I pick my nose in public,sorry,but some things are more important than fame and fortune.I see the corners on the road as race tracks - the long fast sweepers,taking them at 240kph plus (I take them at 110kph,but I dream) The twisties,a true race track.I dunno about my gravel roads....I guess the nearest thing is Rally cars,when I watch rallys,I see a bike doing those roads...with me on it.When I drive along in the car I'm looking at the countryside...I see trials sections everywhere,streams with banks and rocks,fallen trees to climb,rock steps,all the trials stuff.Looking further out I see MX tracks and enduro country...rolling natural terrain,swamps,jumps and hill climbs.I go to Pukekoe to watch the races...then I turn and look at the infield and see 2,yes 2 mile ovals,one loose and one grass...oh,how I would love to get loose on those.When I used to go to the trotts I would see that perfect 1/2 mile oval and wish I could get out there and do it justice.Yep,there are places to ride a bike everywhere...in my mind.

We went to a function on saturday night - I don't function to well at functions,but the free wine lubricated my smile joints to the point where a casual observer would not notice the grumpy shit I really am.One side of the room was lined with roller blinds...so during one of the many boring parts I took a peek outside - There was a 1/4 mile oval out there!!! It was kinda narrow but with a perfect surface,very well maintained.This would be a tricky track to ride,being so narrow there would be only one line - slip the groove and go out wide and you'd hit the wall,get too crossed up and over correct and you'd take out the inner fence...still,with a good bike I would like to give it a try.I rode it in my mind.

It was the Greyhound track.

Sometimes. But when I was an even more 'bike mad' youf, I used to see trials sections, used to drool going past golf courses and imagine motocrossing around them....

Nowadays, it's been so long since I've been off-road, that I just see the potential of tracks, and think "I'd love to take my bike on that", and of rural roads when I'm not on them, and think "Man! I wish I'd brought the bike!" :laugh:
Must be infectious, coz now the wife has started doing it when we take the car on a trip instead of the bike...

As a kid, everytime I went on a train I imagined riding on those little trails next to the tracks (heaps in Victoria)
Even being driven around in cars as a kid I'd do the same thing... tracks in paddocks were race tracks... adventure at every hill...

I went to the hospital in porrirua on sunday to visit my cousin..."I wonder where that road goes" popped into my head as I looked out his window at the hill... tonight, I'm going to find out :ride:

I dream all the time when I'm riding. The Rebel is transformed into a really cool bike that everyone looks at when I zoom past at the speed of sound, and every bikie on the road can't help but wave at me! :wavey: I constantly amaze people with my superb cornering ability at supersonic speed. Oh yeah and I'm the sexiest thing on two wheels with gorgeous long hair that flows down my back without any tangles, no red marks on my forehead from my helmet, and pants that that are still snug around my butt even after hours in the saddle.

When I'm in my car I'm always evaluating the roads on their rideability - and often pop down side roads to see whether they have any potential.
