Has anybody out there got a set of Avon Vipers on their bike?
I have one on the front of my motard and it seems to befairly good and i need to replace the rear (which is currently a Battlax BT-080(the way i brought it))
So am thinking of buying a Viper for the rear to match them up,
I would like to hear any comment on these from anybody
Cheers

It doesn't get any track use, just a weekend toy, the BT-080 only gave me about 1200km,
The guy you talked to would have been a mate of mine, Macstar, he has a 520.

I'm on my third set.
There's two types of Viper; Sport = sticky end of Sport Touring spectrum, and SuperSport = sticky road/trackday tyres.
I love my Sports. Really good in the wet, good grip from cold, warm up really quickly, and predictable slides if you start misbehaving. The front always feels planted.

Thanks Jim, My front is a Sport,

my 2¢, I had the Viper SS on my bike for a while, went thru a couple of rears and one front. Not a bad tyre, fast warm up time (wheelies from cold!) and lasted pretty well too. Push-come-to-shove tho, and something just wasn't quite with it in heated moments. I'm putting that down to me and the set up at the time. I went to Conti's (sports) after that and felt an improvement, basically small upgrade in feedback and grip. I'd still get the vipers again, but I'm happy with conti's

Got a Sport on the front, and went for a Storm rear on the advice of the bike shop as they thought I'd chew up the rear too fast.
Great, great tyres. I'd thoroughly recommend them. They look nice and rough now after a burn over the takas this morning. As Jim says, always feel planted at the front.
Only comment I'd make is that although the rear is worn almost to the edge, the front has nearly an inch of unused tread. Weird. First tyre that's ever done this.

Mine's the same. Would rather run out of rear first. :)

Funny you should say that as my Viper sport on the front is the same, the rear has gone right the edge and there is a inch to go, must be a funny shape or something, pics below

That's exactly the same wear as my tyres!
Must be the Vipers.

Loosebruce ran a couple of sets of vipers (gsxr1000 k3), he liked 'em well enough, but the rears wore out real quick....
