View Full Version : I have a confession...

I haven't riden my bike in over a week with Xmas and the wife cracking the whip getting me to do landscaping.

Anyone interested in doing a damn good pootle on Wednesday? Primarily 250's but anyone would be welcome. Was thinking maybe a Coro loop?

A week?

I am near on touching a year! The random twitches and shakes are starting to become irritating......

But alas, the end is nigh as I get my bike back in a week

Well considering on the last day of work we had a huge pissup BBQ at work and the wife came to pick me up only to find one of the office girls "hanging" off me.........needless to say I had to catch a taxi home.

I have no recollection of the incident but have been paying for it in slave labor for the past week.......landscaping does look good though :)

i have a confession as well... i left the 500 alone since just before xmas due to the increased number of cops. i dragged her out this morning to go to work.

a large motorbike thats been sitting and doesnt want to start makes one HELL of a backfire at 7.30am... and the two that follow the first arent any quieter either! [she also allegedly farts flames ]

typical... soon as dad shows up, she starts first frickin pop. i swear that bike hates me!

Oh dear, you know someone, at your work do, will have video'd the whole thing and it will now be 'You Tube'. :sweatdrop :gob:

I bet the landscaping looks damn fine about now.... after all the sweating to make up for your misdemeanor...

I bet that taxi fair cost an arm and leg as well.

So you have been a good boy for the past week to be allowed out again.... :innocent:

Must pop around to see the said landscaping.......

Be good to do the coro loop, as it has been a while........

Metvuw is showing clear skies for Wednesday.

Haven't done the Coro Loop before so not 100% sure how long it will take all up and whether there is enough days left in 2008 to accomodate a GIJoe pootle.

Maybe a meet up at 7am at BP Autobahn Papakura?

Arrg, looks like a bit of me, mind you, I just came back from West Auckland yesterday after a great xmas, and was considering going back for new years (Had to come back since I work weekends)

But maybe I'll ditch that idea and come for a bit of a pootle. Would be good to give my new camera a bit of a workout.

Could we try someplace other than squids in Whitianga for lunch this time.

Last day of work I had to get up at 6am to get my bike to Takanini so mate could do his 6R at 7am, had to report at 6.30am. Damn testing guy didn't even turn up at testing station until 6.55am!!!!

Only got his restricted 6 months ago because I booked it for him without telling him :)

Would allow for 30 minutes. From the end of the NW Motorway to Takanini is about 30 minutes and it is about the same distance as Albany to Takanini riding at the speed limit :innocent:

Then again, if it was meant to be, I would know some back roads by now.

If you want to learn every back road in the north island just give GIJoe a yell.

Might take you 10x as long to get to your destination but its always enjoyable. Last GIjoe ride resulted in Joe doing a handstand in a rubbsih bin and kung-fu'ing a giant weta in Te Kuiti :)

Well you all missed out on an awesome day for riding the Coro Loop :)

Only one mishap for the day but otherwise all was good.

Coming home we had to utilise our Auckland Motorway conjestion skills all the way from the end of the Hauraki Plains through to Mangatawhiri. Amazing how you can get 1-2km staionary queues just because the speed limit changes from 100kph to 70kph. Enjoyed every minute sliding past all the stuffy cagers :)

Then just get home and sit down and the neighbour comes over to ask if I want to do the Coro Loop tomorrow :eek5:

It must have been you guys I saw going toward Ngatea that afternoon. (yellow and black hyosungs eh?)

I was on the big blue gsx250 with the mirrored visor and big-ass backpack on.

Good riding with you guys for some of the day sorry for spoiling it by paying too much attention to the amateur geologists on the side of the road and not seeing the corner untill it was way to late.

It's turned out to be an exepensive day.

Insurance excess $500 (bike)
Insurance Excess $100 (gear)
Tow Truck to Coro Town $130 (only 6km)
Ambo ride $??
Afternoon at the whangamata A & E $66

But nothing broken only bruising.

I'm sure it will take them 3 - 4 months to fix the bike so I'll have to go dust of the busa.

See you guys on the next ride.

Hey Fub@r. I met you and Hubba Gubba at the gas station before a mate and I headed off to Waihi for a ride - coincidentally you had arranged a Coro loop adventure. We have the black and red gt250rs.

Keen to join you next time providing you keep to your 'Speed Limit +wee bit' comment. Being new to riding I tend to stick to the limit - I need all the time possible to react to the changes in the road and/or other vehicle driver's mistakes.

Question: why did you replace the front tire and leave the rear Shinko on?

Was a good ride, no excessive speed. :)

Replaced the front tyre as I purchased the bike on Trademe and it was transported up from down the line. When it was delivered the bike was clamped down hard on the front and the tyre was flat. When I inflated it it had a "wobble" to it so replaced it. Was planning on getting rid of the rear but have never gotten around to it

Iain

HAHA, thanks for that... maybe that is why noone talks to me :P

It has now been corrected. For the record; mine is same as yours without the screamin demon although yours is from Wellington so probably handles better in the wind! I beleive you still have da Shinkos.

Been riding for 18 months and in no rush to get a bigger bike as 80% of my riding is getting through Auckland traffic so a larger bike would be waste. And the Hyo does me well :)

Got the bike for $5500 with 500km on it so was pretty happy with that. Guy purchased it then had a work accident which did his knee in and required surgery. Was told he wouldn't be able to ride for 12 months so sold it.

As for the McMuffin I don't know why I keep doing it to myself, always regret having one of those for breakfast.

Should start a Hyo ride, was quite nice to see 4 of them at the BP parked together

Shame about the previous owner :S

Before 10am you have to eat and when you are out and about at that time you have to do McDs.. its strange Ive tried their breakfast deli rolls... they are crap, too bready and tomato saucy, so the good ole massive mcMuffin is probably the better choice.

18 months and youve stuck with the Hyo... Good to hear.. Ill stick with mine for some time. Will probably replace the can and tires but am very happy with what I have now. See you on the next Hyo ride!
