I Have spend many a Saturday afternoon at Fratton Park helping to "Play up Pompey". Now in Auckland enjoying this fantastic biking country (apart from the low speed limit).

Loads of good rides for you around here. My wife would kill me if I offered to show you the sights, so I won't (can't).

Plenty of places around Auckland that hire bikes,I've used these guys, went the extra mile to keep me happy when the bike I hired wasn't ready, let me have an 1100 BMW for the same price as the XT600 that was in pieces when I arrived to pick it up.Great service and nice guys as well
http://www.motorcycle-hire.co.nz/
They used to have a few older bikes for budget rental kicking about as well as the newer stuff, plenty of other places do bike rental as well.
Got to be better riding yourself than pillion.

There are a hell of a lot of kiwi women who know a lot about rugby, cricket and football/soccer and many other sports.... Not all kiwi women want to be in the kitchen...... most of the women on KB are out riding our bikes.

In fact when the recent rugby world cup was on, many (but not all) of the KB menfolk couldn't stand Rugby...
So good luck with your search.... as most just want to chat about bikes... lol

I was actually kidding, seen it before, some "chick" comes on here spouting about knowing all about "guy things" and wanting to "take rides with guys only", the guys get all excited, the chicks get all miffy and then it turns out to be Finn, Sixpackback or some other guy having a troll/experiment, it's funny and was wondering how much I could stir before someone got upset.... obviously not too much!

I am pleased to say that again today I was taken out for an amazing ride by a bloode good rider-OWNER who was a good crack and a spot on bloke to spend time with.

The more time I spend here the more I am convinced that this is where I want to set up home and hanging out with cool biker PEOPLE has just helped to entrench the very positive image I already had of Kiwis.

Thanks everyone who has shown the hand of friendship, has offered ride out and advice about working and living here. It has been very much appreciated.

He offers you a ride, he even offers to modify the bike for you. The least you could do is tell him to fuck off nicely!

I am sooo glad I did not ride my Nifty 50 all the way up to Akl. Would have been such a long and lonely ride home...

You're entitled to your own priorities, but it's worth noting that a man can always upgrade his ride. A dickhead will always be a dickhead no matter what he's on though :scooter: Depending on what you're after of course... ;)

The Virago is not my favourite two fiddy. The one time I rode one, I had the distinct impression that it was slower than the FXR150 I owned at the time.

And, Mr Skid, don't forget that you're always welcome to borrow Betty if you're desperate to get the "I'm cool because I took Bikern1mpho for a ride on a motorbicycle" patch.

I just had a thought.

Lily presumably knows the dictum of pillioning: "Gas, grass or arse, nobody rides for free."

Since she's already stipulated that her arse is off the table, I assume yous fullas taking her out are receiving either tanks of gas, or quantities of cannabis.

If it's the latter, count me in.

A wee while back one of these threads started and followed a similar routine, with our keen lass being accused of all sorts of evils including being an undercover cop..! Mrs T was cool with the idea so I offered her the rear perch on my Busa. Guess what? She was the real thing, a nice and normal lady who wanted to get out there on a bike. Just as simple as that really. She was bitten by the bike bug, now owns two bikes and frequents this site on a regular basis. Strange things sure do happen on motorcycle forums..!

When you first come on here you are supposed to be in awe of the oldies.
You are supposed to ask silly questions that the oldies can easily answer.
Then you are supposed to ask what bike you should upgrade to.
Then slowly you will be allowed to say what you think and pee in a corner to mark your spot.

To enter this forum having balls to say straight what you want (AND being a female AND not having a bike) was always gonna get the smartazzes to try to outdo each oters with cheap remarks.

But you are handling it well. And I am sure nothing said on here will change your sleeping habits.

If you end up in HB I am sure you will notice a big difference and you will realise that real NZ starts below the Bombay Hills...

Although I am only here for a short time I am HOPING to emmigrate here and I am sure that even when back in the UK I will stay an active member of KB; I am not a fair weather KBer!!

I am sure that I will ask all those questions at some point but as the scars of brother selling my CBR600 are still raw I will leave the adult questions for a while!!

Sleeping habits are screwed as I suffer with insomnia but you nevr know what moving to the southern hemisphere will bring :woohoo:

I was down there with sAsLEX but unfortunately it was sans motorbike. I did get to wizz around the NP district with nadroj on his busa for a decent amount of ks and then head back to auckland with OWNER. Must admit I move the road round there especially when on the back of a really mint sports bike. Just don't tell anyone I just classed a Honda CBR 600 RR as a mint sports bike!!

I will be getting my license in NZ instead of the UK so will be pootling round on a little wee bike for a while so pillioning will be a nice way to get the speed fix.

Not smoking sucks; you are supposed to be healthier (throat is sore as buggery) and save cash (spending even more than the usual fortune I spend on food).
