View Full Version : Anybody had "issues" with a White Diahatsu Van?

My flatmate is now working for a bloke who has lent him the work van to do the job. When I rode out of the driveway this morning I noticed that the front left corner of the van had had some "home handyman" panelbeating done to it, and that the light fitting was very loose. On closer inspection, I noticed a sticker of a motorcycle just above it. On first looks it seemed to me like a tag to denote the fact that he had taken out a motorcycle, just like a pilot might do on a bomber or jetfighter... and that pissed me off more than just a little bit.
So if any of you have had, or know another motorcyclist that might have had "issues"with a white Diahatsu van, I'd be interested to know.
Question for all you legal boffins out there... is it kosher for me to post the rego number on this site?

Did it have a cross over the motorcycle sticker?

Good point. No it doesn't, but then why would he/she bother putting a sticker there in the first place? If they're stupid enough to advertise it, then they may also be stupid enough not to think about putting a cross through it.

Rank & Name go on the door, callsign goes on the helmet... :)
I have pondered for many hours the thought of purchasing a van with sliding doors on both sides, painting it olive drab, giving it a personalised plate "UH 1", a 1st of the 9th Air Cav symbol painted to the front and a big sound system to blast Wagner over the city where ever we drive...

Why stop there. The army M113's are coming up for sale, if they come with the 50 cals they'll be the perfect Auck commuting vehicle.

Back when I owned my daimler armoured car (insert long story here), yes a real WW2 armoured car my mate had a Willys jeep with (fake) twin .50 cal mounted on back.
Made a few interesting burger runs in that thing, great coats flappin', steel helmets, the works. Megga Fun.

Well we had a sign taped up on one the other day, said that we'll swap for a Ford Escort or FJ holden. So pretty cheap if ya ask me.

Youd probably want something different to UH 1 since the UH for the Airforce is the Irquois helicopter. Spelling is probably wrong :(

If its the Mig 21 that was bought in a few years back it is currently sitting behind the warbards hanger at Ardmore, slowly rusting away.

So if any of you have had, or know another motorcyclist that might have had "issues"with a white Diahatsu van, I'd be interested to know.
Question for all you legal boffins out there... is it kosher for me to post the rego number on this site?
So the answers to your questions are as follows:

Don't know
Seems the lads have got a wee bit side-tracked. ;)
