View Full Version : So: are KB women bitches?

Serious question, or at least a subject that deserves some serious debate. (Ah.. who am I kidding this is KB!)

Been thinking about this over the last few days; while a certain 'nympho' was making her debut on KB, a similar drama was playing out on another UK forum I occasionally frequent. There, a girl posted a stream of pictures she had taken of herself in fairly provocative, revealing poses, got a lot of attention and then was then joined by another girl who wanted everyone to know that she was a hobby pole dancer, and possibly interested in some girl-on-girl action. Cue much attention, obviously. What was interesting was that the critics there were also all male- mainly accusing them of sad attention whoring and yawnsomeness. This may be because there are fewer women on there- or that they've seen it all before. Who knows?

Now, here on KB I *think* that it was mainly women that had a problem with nympho's approach, and historically (because let's not forget, this really ain't a new thing) there's been a similar reaction. Then guys jump in and immediately accuse the women who are critical of suffering from sour grapes (and other tired cliches) - and, surprise, surprise, the girl herself will apologise for being so damned hot that she's upset the hairy lesbians.

Now, I don't honestly think that jealousy is what is behind the irritation for many of us, though I'm fully prepared to believe that there's some wrong on the side of the critics (it is a free world, after all). I think there's room for debate on both sides. Given that nympho's a Psychology type, and clearly intelligent enough to hold her own*, I'd genuinely like to see some input from her on what she feels the dynamic is here and elsewhere.

So: what do you folks think?

* No pun intended

I'd say this site is a fair representation of human interaction and relationships in the real world. Nothing new under the sun and all that. . . so your question of are KB women bitches - no more or less than the general population, I'm thinking.

Hmm. Perhaps I should clarify.

What I meant was, why is it that so many of us (and I'm afraid I include myself here to an extent) find newbies who flash their cleavage and openly tout for male company and a spot on a pillion seat so irritating?
I don't mean are women on KB actually 'bitches' per se- just that that was implied by those who support the approach.

Edit: and I imagine that the same sort of thing happens in general in Meatspace, too- but perhaps people are more inclined to have a pop online rather than bitch behind someone's back.

Met a few people (especially while at uni) that were only interested in me for my bike. When I lent my spare set of bike gear to a friend for a few weeks, the 'friends' were no-where to be seen.

Thats only indicative of the shallow minded young university girls - not necessarily any women on here.

It is nice that women are impressed by a motorbike, but anyone could go out and buy one... It's like being impressed by someone having a pink fluffy pencil case!

Bottom line - there are women that are just as shallow as some men. Thats a fact!

There's definitely a percentage of gold digging hoe's on here, But i have also met some people through KB that are pure gold, so to answer the question in the title, id say KB is no different to society in general.

I'm fairly sure that this has been discussed to some extent before that the general female population of motorcycle riders are fairly independent women who don't take too much shit and don't suffer fools lightly. This however gets up some people's noses and we all get tarred with the same brush as "militant hairy lesbian feminist types" (or something to that extent). I take offense at having the feminist title chucked at me like it's a bad thing, as my profile says, look it up, I think most women would have to admit they are feminists to some degree and it is only used as a derogatory term by those who either don't know anything about it or believe that women should still be in the kitchen, chained between the sink and the bedroom and spitting out children all over the place. As this is a forum for people who ride motorcycles, most women on here who do that would take offense at being told that their place is not on a motorcycle and to get back to the kitchen! (I know most of you say it as a joke, but some don't!!)

OK, my view on the nymph person was that I honestly thought she was one of the guy's female persona's, we have seen this several times, rather funny actually, especially when it's discovered that several of the guys have been throwing themselves at another male.... now that I know she's real, I don't give a shit what she does.
Rant over, deep breaths.

Totally fair point. Same with Mom and NC, really.
On the other hand, I think a fair few folk find the 'bimbette' window dressing and sexual allusions annoying, not necessary the part where someone is direct and asks for what they want. Though of course I may be wrong; past my bed time, y'know.
Maybe it's because it can appear like a crude and cliched use of sex and pandering to male fantasies (btw, I'm being general here) rather than relating to folk in a straight forward way as equals.

I've noticed similar things in some of the male-dominated sports I've been part of.

FWIW I do agree that it's really up to people what they want to do, and how they want to be seen. I'm just being honest in admitting that it can rankle with me, even so.

Good night, New Zealand... zzzz.

How many new friends and acquaintances has she made by doing that? If it was a guy who was posing on his bike in a tight tee on a thread about looking for female bikers to ride out with would you all be upset about it? Some of the guys would think he was a bit of a ponce but would probably just have a snigger and move on. Who's going to get the most out of it? And who else really cares.

..........I don't find someone that knows what they want and just ask outright for it irritating. Confident to the point of arrogant but not irritating.

ahhhhhhhh - thinking thru my own 'reaction' ......... because i sincerely believe that what people choose to do with their own plumbing is their own affair [no pun intended :pinch:]...

so it's highly unlikely to be the sexual blatancy here that offends me - ie the 'asking' for it .......... because i truly believe she's entitled to do that if she has to ............

- i think it's most probably the crude use of her gender to manipulate the easily-led whilst DENYING she's asking ......
.... that and, of course, disappointment at the sheer willingness of the easily-led to do their thinking with their 'other' head.

i'm also mildly irritated with her assumption they'll swallow, without blinking, her later implication that being academically-qualified and being sexually-manipulative are somehow mutually-exclusive............. [which is obviously a total nonsense for people of EITHER gender :msn-wink:]

what the heck
this sort of thread always seems to turn men and women into stereotypes IRRESPECTIVE of the content of their subsequent posts -
it makes focus fall on what's between their legs [and i AIN'T talking bikes, buddy ] instead of what's in their heads and hearts ............... and it drags us ALL down with her into the primordeal slime

*sigh* especially disappointing at the start of a new year --- i mean, umpty-ump thousands of years of civilization culminating in yet ANOTHER 'xx kiss kiss' thread?

sheesh  it's sad........

Probably because for many of us we gained the respect of our fellow motorcycling males by being ourselves and genuinely interested in bikes and talking about them. We kinda had to fight the stereotype that you were either a butch lesbian if you rode, or that if you were a pretty thing then your place was on the back. I guess girls that come on here flaunting their tits and wanting a backseat ride just throw us back into the dark ages.

Hey dudes and Dudess's

At the end of the day, those people (male or female) who openely flaunt themselves shameslessly, everybody inwardly laughs at them, these folk should save all that stuff, for one person in their lives, and be a totally in your face nymph with them. I dont think a bloke would really like their chick to go on show all the time, and theres something to be said for tantalising someone with chat, good fun, and a bit of a :devil2:side to them as well.

Most of us are confident in ourselves that we dont have to behave like that, but it is each to their own I guess, just they had better watch it if ever they try to hit on my man.............:girlfight:

Me, I am the Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies, (the bit where she strips for Arnie....!) and I save it all for that special dude....... (he knows who he is):msn-wink:. and he gets plenty of attention dont you ?

Attention seekers, thats all they are.......:bleh:the should put their thoughts into branding something and selling it, they'd make a friggin fortune.

And anyway, boys, (for those pathetic .."wanting to get a prehistoric reaction to....get back in the kitchen).... you should get your own arse in the kitchen and cook for a change, as I personally, and know 99% of chicks, think a man who is a whizz in the kitchen, is well horney:2thumbsup

Anyway, us biker chicks dont really give one do we girls, as we know we are the rreal hot stuff, not back seat showoffs. Having said that when I was in the IOM, I was a pillion at the time, and had nothing under my leather jacket, and almost did the "Show us Your Tits" bit, but shy'd off.

For the record, mine are coming out once only at the March Hare....if I get the guts, and I get to the gym!!

Coi for now amigo's and I have more important stuff to worry about, like getting a footpeg for my bonny and strimming my front disc break.....:crybaby:

Well yes I am very good at stating what I want and try my hardest to achieve said objective.

I have never used sex to get what I want as I have respect for men and women alike. I find that people have more respect for you if you are honest and do not make rash judgements about them. If women and men have a problem with my picture and me asking for BIKE rideouts then thay is their perogative, freedom of speach and all that.

What I will say is that I believe in passing it forward. So I do not take without giving back; so if anyone from this site is ever in the UK and wants a place to crash (and I mean a spare bed to lay their head on) they are more than willing to stay at my place and I will show them around. If you come during the sumnmer I will even take you to BSB!!

Having run a backpacker hostel in Paihia peak season, this message is very similar to the attitude of many overseas visitors to our fine country, the can't bring the toys with them so they talk to locals makes no difference whether it is riding, fishing or playing a guitar, I think we sometimes get a little insulated down here in NZ and do not think globally enough so power to the nympho, enjoy your stay in NZ and hope you get to do lots of riding and meet plenty of people you would like to invite into your home while you are here.

As someone who has travelled all over the world on my todd I believe in passing it forward. I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. if you can be nice to someone why would you want to be an ass.

Nice to see that you get what it is like on your own in a strange country and thanks us n1mphos always like more powere. If you are ever in the UK you always have a place to stay!!

Maybe I have a different view on life as I don't find someone that knows what they want and just ask outright for it irritating. Confident to the point of arrogant but not irritating.

Maybe if you were more secure in yourself and the way you look you wouldn't feel the need to diss another woman for taking some pride in her appearance and enjoying bikes at the NEC!! Just a suggestion!!

Why do you feel the need to bitch about me when you have never even met me, if you slag me off after meeting me then I will have far more respect for you!!

As a psychologist, nympho (you are one, aren't you?), why is it that you think people got the impression of you that they did? I'd like a serious answer, honestly!

I'd also like to mention that although I did mention nympho at the outset (it would have been disingenuous not to), personally I am more interested in the phenomenon in general.

I know that (for example) the reasons for my irritation are pretty close to those RiffRaff mentioned. Jealousy or anything like it don't come into it for me- but at the same time I'm not really interested in having a go at someone for doing what they want to do, especially if I don't know them...

I can fully appreciate why you're feeling touchy, but you're not answering my question at all. I asked you in all seriousness for your opinion as a psychologist. I wasn't having a go at you, or asking you to justify yourself. I'm not interested in your sexual appetite, or in anyone else's (unless I'm involved in it!).

I really do hope you enjoy New Zealand; I'm sure you will, and it seems you've already met a lot of the crew in the real world which is where it really matters most, after all.
I hope that NZ will be my country one day- but as it happens, I'm stuck being Scottish and living in England for now.

Hmmmm, kinda funny that no comment was made when threads were started by people wanting to talk about their favourite albums, guns, recipes, beer etc etc. not much to do with biking there, so why the recriminations regarding this womans motives? She seems genuinely interested in bikes and enthusiastic about participating.

Not having a go but trying to point out that you are swapping one of your previously mentioned stereotypes for another. I thought the whole idea of feminism was about removing stereotypes, that you could do or be anything that you want regardless of your sex. Are you saying even if a woman likes to cook she shouldn't be in the kitchen in case she drags women back to the dark ages? She shouldn't wear something that makes her feel attractive? She shouldn't stay at home with the kids even if she wants to? And now you are advocating that she shouldn't be on the back of a bike?

What is she (or anyone) supposed to do if they want to go motorcycling but (for whatever reason) they cannot actually take the controls themselves? Just stay schtum in case they offend someone?

C'mon people, we have all seen some shitty/vicious things said, done or advocated on this forum with nary a word of censure from most of us (classic "I don't want to get involved") and here we have an international visitor with nothing but good intentions and some of us can't resist having a dig. Jesus, all she's done is ask to sit on the back of someones bike.

Telling a woman not to act a certain way in what is ultimately a very small part of her life (who knows what she's like off KB) is just as restrictive and archaic as telling her to get back in the kitchen a cook those bloody eggs.

I guess what always gets my dander up is anyone (male or female) that does use their tits/arse or other body parts to influence how others may perceive them over and above others. Not pointing the finger and saying this is what the woman who is the topic of this thread is doing though, just adding my view to the discussion.

Anyway, here's my feminist rant:

In my experience as a woman if I walked around in a baggy t-shirt, baggy trousers and sloppy sandals, with no make-up on I could guarantee a lot of men may not give me much interest. But, if I wear a low cut top & tight jeans and tart myself up there is a lot more interest in me - I know this b/c at times I've deliberately 'dressed up' to get what/who I want or be noticed and other times just cos it feels good. Heck, most of us women have...haven't we?

Maybe the question is "why" and the answer to that could be any one of a million. E.g. 'I'm hot so why shouldn't I show off my killer cleavage'; 'I feel comfortable in these clothes'; 'I wanna let get laid'; 'I'm hot b/c it's a sunny day '; 'I love my body and I'm proud of it'; 'I know I look great' etc, etc, etc.

However, I'm a feminist and I do have an issue with any kind of media that portrays women as sexual objects - as a woman it's not as simple as looking the other way, changing the channel/station/site or not listening to that particular conversation. I really do struggle with the way some men will always view women as sexual objects first and a person 2nd. I have an issue with the fact that despite NZ having a lot of women in high paying/high powered jobs - women are still paid less than men. A prime example of the double standards that exist is the fact that a lot of blokes make comments on how unattractive Helen Clarke is but I don't believe I ever heard the same amount of comments about Don Brash (former Nats leader).

And the main reason I have an issue with all of this is b/c I wonder what sort of message all this is sending to the young women out there (including my 2 beautiful nieces) about how we get what we want as women.

Yep I definitely think we should live and let live but, I also think we all need to take responsibility for our actions and and consider others. At the end of the day there is no black or white answer to most things in life just a lot of grey in my view.

Cheers CSL

Not entirely true. I've heard plenty of old biddies going gaga over Winston Peters because of his looks, and I'm sure that it didn't do his voting any harm. And on the other coin, I've heard a lot of women slagging off Gerry Brownlee because of how he looks.

Interestingly, you compared Helen Clarke with Don Brash, not John Key. Perhaps because you find Don Brash unattractive? And John key not so. In which case you would be doing exactly that which you condemn.

Ah - good point. Yeah I do find DB unattractive (but on sooooo many levels) and I was looking for a comparison, b/c I am the 1st to agree HC isn't a complete stunner, I guess I was just trying to come up with a realistic comparison. In fact I'm confident that part of the reason John Key is the new Nat Leader is b/c he is (among other things) much nicer to look at than DB ever was. All shades of grey though.

Edit: Originally Ixion I was going to compare Helen Clarke to Donald Trump but I thought a more realistic comparison is HC & DB.

Which woman is that? I was making a generalised comment regarding women who come on KB for the sole purpose of flashing their tits etc to get a ride and why that annoys us girls on here.

The original post targeted a specific individual, using an abbreviated version of her pseudonym. As for flashing their tits I have yet to see any KB members rack.....apart from the maginificent set that your beloved displayed in that photo.

You are an attractive woman RR so I can kinda (if I hold my head to the side cover one eye and squint the other) see how you might feel that others are eroding the respect that you have built up......but ultimately we are each portrayed by our own actions and these should in no way reflect on others.

I mean if some motorcyclist chooses to stunt down the freeway in rush hour and is then held in general contempt that doesn't mean that you are also held in contempt because you are also a motorcyclist. Some members of the general public choose to make gross these generalisations and lump us all together and we in the general motorcycling community bloody hate it don't we? Seems a shame to then do the same thing to other individuals who are having a bit of fun at no ones expense.

Their are no rules here, everybody's idea of what KB is or isn't for is different. Some just wanna stir shit, others have serious discussions, others get something off their chest, or make friends, or share recipes/music etc etc. So if you have a general (or even a vague) interest in bikes and want to meet a potential partner with a similar interest why wouldn't/shouldn't you come on here.....there's a lot better chance of success than bumping into shopping trolleys down at the supermarket. Sure, the flirting runs the range from cringeworthy to smoother than olive oil icecream but (and as with motorcycling in general) what is a stylie approach in one person's book could be the opposite in anothers.

As I said, I in no way mean to have a go at you, I just think you are unnecessarily worried that the actions of any individual could reflect badly on your good self.

I also mentioned two other people on another forum who had in fact done a lot more 'boob jiggling'. I also said that it is, after all, a free world.

Why do people feel the need to pigeonhole everyone. we are all individuals? I am not just a female, a psychologist-in-training, Brit etc etc I am me a human being that is poddling through life as best I can. Trying to make the most of the very short time I have on the mortal coil.

I didn't come on here to find a bloke. I came here to try and meet new people, see your beautiful country and see about moving here to live. I have managed to meet (in person) the most amazing people who have been extraordinarily kind and genuine and have managed to see a great deal of the North Island, so far two out of three isn't bad!!

And also managed a session round Pukekohe as a pillion today which was awesome so life is extremely good and I can't complain. Just wish others would stop doing it and make the most of what they have.

Not wishing to be so, I actually stated that I was a psychologist in training and the fact that I am dyslexic so my spelling isnlt always perfect. But is people are only interested in form and not function then so be it!

And as a psychologist in training I am specialising in stalking and hopefully research involving young women offenders in prisons so to be honest what is going on here is of interest but not really of any importance to my areas of interest. Sorry to disappoint!!

This weekend the sun is shining; go for a ride, get a serotonin fix, cheer up.

I did. In spite of all sorts of more apparently important things to do.

Still, pressing on in the face of overwhelming adversity and hardship, I rode my bike the long way to work. And now me bike's fooked.

I'd say this site is a fair representation of human interaction and relationships in the real world. Nothing new under the sun and all that. . . so your question of are KB women bitches - no more or less than the general population, I'm thinking.

Agreed.

Hmm. Perhaps I should clarify.

What I meant was, why is it that so many of us (and I'm afraid I include myself here to an extent) find newbies who flash their cleavage and openly tout for male company and a spot on a pillion seat so irritating?

It might be my view on the world but - I honestly think KB has a reasonably different place in the world in respect to many online forums. So many have an "interest" where people come to meet but many are simply meat markets looking for a new guise under which they can appear.

So when someone used to showing dicks or tits comes to a new site they do what's familiar, they do what they think is expected and it doesn't quite fit with the established way of doing things in KB land.

We have our ways of flirting (and God knows some of it is pretty fucken direct) but unless it's either invited, or expected it seems a little out of place.

Liken it to the Aunt with great tits that's always showing up to family functons in reasonably "attractive" tops. After a while it becomes the norm and no-one pays more attention than you'd expect... especially if she has a brain/personality and a bunch of other assets as well. She'd get my respect for knowing who she is and actually being that person despite the flak she must get on a daily basis.

Have that same Aunt walk into any other setting and do her thing though... women will be either envious or resentful of the attention (especially if taken from THEIR man), and men will try their hardest not to get caught exploring the cavernous cleavage that just walked in the room.

Both are a basic mammalian response. Neither are wrong - they just happen.

:gob: Dude!?! 42kg????? farkin hell... I haven't been at that weight for about 15 years...I'm positively fat now at a plump 55kgs, thank you very much...

And besides, me thinks the "nut house nympho" and I would probably get on well. yeah, yeah I know...some might say that was a predictable viewpoint, but eh...I don't feel threatened or bothered by Lily. I just think she'd probably be quite good fun with a quirky sense of humour that the more traditional Kiwis are not really used to (maybe, don't shoot me, ok?).

I don't judge people immediately by the way they come across on here...it does come into the equation, sure...but I wait to make my mind up until I meet them in person.

Now, if Bikenymph is a little forward, surely that can't do much harm, can it?
Personally I find it quite amusing and don't see how it's any different from some of the boys being absolute shameless flirts on here, some of them admitedly none too subtle either.

Hi babe...

In regards to the straws, I can think of a few disgusting suggestions, but apparently, I got to try to be Work Safe

But let's put it this way, I think it may be correlated with the jelly...then use your imagination! :2thumbsup
