Wicked stuff you two.
As I type, theres a pooped out Volty rider asleep on the bed from doing similar things. Will knock a breif ride report together shortly. All systems go for the Mohaka.:woohoo:

Rosie how are you enjoying the gravel rides?
I'm getting the hang of it. I like it when the surface is reasonable and there are tyre tracks I can follow. The second half of the Napier-Taihape had been graded and there was deep gravel everywhere, I was a bit nervous, but I just slowed down a bit and it wasn't so bad. I'm not very good at pulling off onto the shoulder and getting back onto the road (deep gravel + camber = eek), but I just need more practise.
The first gravel riding I did was on a road bike, so of course it's soo much easier on the sherpa.
We did some easy 4WD tracks on Wednesday, and that was a bit scary. I'll need to practise more, if I'm going to do the capital coast ride.

Awesome stuff clint, fantastic pics in that link, we plan on doing the very same thing later in the year...staying 'on' the seal will be the only difference.

I find the deep gravel scary myself more going down hill around corners. Not knowing whats coming around.:baby:But i am enjoying the different type of riding.Im no speedster. At the moment a granny.Like you practise.Love the adventure side of it.Not bad i think for a learner. So looking forward to this trip.See you soon:2thumbsup
