I just want to give big ups to Don at Pitlane/Cycletreads Chch. My rear was suffering from chronic overuse syndrome[rear tyre, people!!],but pre xmas, not a Bridgestone was to be had. I went in this morning, Don gave me some options and had a new Brigstone on there, less than 5 min after the supplier had dropped it off! Nice! Great, prompt and expert service. Bring on the weekend!!

Can be short at time, but not cause he's an a-hole, they're just so damn busy all the time!!! (and with good service, it's no surprise at all!) Always has a little time to chat about bike related stuff though

He knows his stuff and you can trust him to be straight up. He also does great deals on stuff to - I've yet to buy something from him at the marked price. Top guy, top shop.

It's a business but it doesn't feel like it to me. I like what he has done to his shop to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Don is there to make a crust so don't go in crapping on and on about your bike, he is too busy. Go in, get the correct information or tyres or product, thank him, pay up, and get out so that he can move on to the next customer. He will appreciate that I'm sure. I'm feeling lucky that we have a dealer in Christchurch who knows his stuff and will give you the good oil and not sh*t you just to make a buck.
Remember.
1. Watching a service could be $10 extra per hour.
2. Asking questions could be $20 an hour extra.
3. Making suggestions or giving advice is definitely $30 an hour extra :nono:

Yep Don's a top bloke and he has always looked after me very well. As a result I don't shop around for tyres etc- I wouldn't care if the others were cheaper, I'd still buy from Don

I agree with this entirely, and if anyone ever asks me about tyres all I say is "Go see Don, he will sort you out"

I don't buy the racey tyres, so for $500 I can have whatever ones I want, seems fair enough, they're always in stock, so I don't even bother ringing around.
/edit: Oh, and Les is now a sales rep for Forbes and Davies
