How long before the Gummint close down this site. http://www.dontvotelabour.org.nz/
Apparently, the Electoral Commission are already investigating to see if it breaches the anti free speech act.

Well how much does a website cost?
Host it yourself for well under the prescribed limit.
Someone has already found a loophole huh?

Viral texting could be even cheaper. Lots of loopholes, inevitable when laws are passed by old duffers who can only envisage 19th century communications.
The interwibble has made censorship much much harder.

Honestly I can host one for about $6USD a month that gives you the space and bandwidth and tools to build anything you wish. And the server is hosted off shore.. so th elaw is a little grey there as well.
and I am sure that comes under the limit... the next expense is advertising it and then you can easily go over the limit... but if I advertise one month then some body else another and some body else again then it becomes a little harder for them to track

The Libertarians are already offering their party as a flag of convenience - as a political party they can spend more than the slaves.. err citizens.
I guess they will put the first 500 paid up libertarians in "LIB Party #1", the next 500 in "LIB Party #2", thus getting the full aloocation for each 500 members.

Greenies have fucked our power supply
Roy Hemmingway is hardly unbiased when it comes to NZ energy matters. Pinch of salt required, methinks.
Besides, it's a bit disingenuous to say "Greenies have fucked our power supply". Mr Hemmingway's point is that renewables are more expensive than fossil fuels, and are in some cases more variable than fossil fuels (wind is the example cited). Well, duh. The externalities of both aren't adequately priced in, but are undoubtedly higher for fossil fuels. Fix that, and his point is irrelevant.

Perhaps you would find Bryan Leyland a bit more believable: http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO0712/S00060.htm
