Alright, I have a friend in Norway at the moment on exchange, and she has asked me to make a video of things NZ. I have the song picked, and a few pics from holidays etc with some pretty cool scenery. But I don't have enough.
So if you guys have any nice pics of NZ or NZ things, could you post them here? It'll be going on youtube and I'll post it here too.
Things like fish 'n chips in the paper, L & P, Pineapple Lumps, Weetbix etc. Not just foods, but they are all I can think of now. Things that are uniquely NZ.
Cheers.

In fact, if people have any ideas for songs too, it would be appreciated. NZ songs of course. At this point, I'm going to use Evermore - Light Surrounding You, but any other ideas are welcome.

Phar Lap
All he did was pull a milk cart around Timaru before heading of to Aussie, where only then, did he become famous for what he was really good for, so Phar Lap can be rightfully claimed as Australian, born here yes, but no clam to fame in NZ, until after the Aussie imput, and thats the KIWI way...:niceone:

From the Sanitarium Health Food company - Utah USA.
I never knew that.
According to my daughter's homework sheet Sanitarium is separately registered in Oz & NZ and has been from around the late 1800s. The origin of the idea of brealfast cereals is linked to the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan. One director was Dr JH Kellog (Mr Corn Flake). The connection is the 7th Day Adventist Church which started at Battle Creek and Edward Halsey the american adventist baker who started both companies downunder.
I bet you grew up with the same breakfasts as I did. Honey Puffs, Skippy Corn Flakes and Weetbix.

The only truely unique things that they won't have seen before will be the Maoris culture items - carvings, marea's hangis etc... arguably the ONLY thing that sets NZ apart from Australia for outsiders. Everything else is Tamato/Tomato. Cue the outraged hillbillies and rednecks.........

That's right. In Neil's own words:
"Melbourne was the birthplace of Crowded House and was always the town we chose to return to. It's forever deeply ingrained in our collective psyche and was the backdrop for many of our best musical moments."
