Happy New Year everyone!!

My sister, her boy and her fella are over here next month from London for their 1st ever visit to NZ and her fella would like to mark his visit with a tattoo.

Can anyone recommend a good tattoo artist/shop in the Auckalnd area, please?

I ride past one every day on the Ponsonby Road and I know there are a few on the K Road but any recommendations from locals would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers in advance!

+1 for Stained Skin. Did my Wifes last one and she was pleased with the work. The guys were helpful, knowledgable and the conditions were good. (I would have said it was in three kings, but)

Steve at western tattoo studio in new lynn did a couple of mine and are good. One was done when he worked in K road but and the other in his original premises in new lynn. Lat time I went in I actually didnt get a very nice feeling about the place (new premises) though... although I may have just been having a bad day....

+1 for Stained Skin...a girlfriend of mine got her tat done there, and it was just very nice clean work with lots of fine fiddly lines...

And yes, forget about K'Rd. Monique in Henderson does good work in general, but is very expensive, so I wouldn't really recommend her.

Good luck and let us know how it went.

I watched a guy in Balistics tattooing a girl...... He kept stopping to txt on his cellphone (didn't change his gloves after) not to mention he kept whiping his nose on his arm....

She uses Moniques Euro Tattoo on Lincoln road. They have different people to do different stuff, they specialise in their own field, like one does dragons, line work or shading etc. As a nurse she's bloody fussy about hygiene too and she reckons they're good.

Thanks for all your replies, guys. Plenty off suggestions here for me to be getting on with. I'll post the final outcome with a pic once done and dusted.

Cheers! :)

Travel down to Christchurch and get it at Black Rose tattoo. They are award winning, highly professional and the new woman training there aint to bad lookin either.
