Just wondering? like those spary on types and there is also a plastic cover , are these legal at all or are they outlawed?

I saw a cool product in the states last week might get them in if youre wondering why I askThere's something about it being an offense to cover or obscure your numberplate.

When I lived in Tauranga, there were two guys there who I rode with one time (I think it was at band camp) who had hinged their numberplates and had a choke cable or similar with the knob under the side of the seat, which when operated tilted the plate up.

Do anything that prevents police/cameras from getting a good look at your number plate is illegal. So if the stuff works as advertised it's illegal, but if it does nothing it's legal.

i noticed in the states last week a lot of the bikes had their number plates above the hugger mounted from the underside of the guard, ive looked at my bike and this would be acheivable so may do it. you get the whole gp look uninterferred with by a shovel, as is the case on my bike at the moment

Is that all you want to do, I feel very claustrophobic in a cage, have to ram all the others off the road and burn it. On a bike I feel much free(er??) and have the ability to piss off quickly if needs be.

Umm, I have a funny feeling that sounds really GAY!! :buggerd:

Quasi yes it can be done to your bike,
have you seen it done here on a ZXR?, and if so who, might see how they did it

have you seen it done here on a ZXR?, and if so who, might see how they did it simple drill a couple of holes where you want to mount it make a bracket easy as pie, or just do it they way i have done mine, get a bracket made up to mount in the factory place

the guys in the states also don't have to worry about interactors and the such like we do here, ya need to find somwhere to mount those and also a numberplate light( ok i don't have one, but if you do some riding at night my need one of those)

I know how yours is,but what Im talking about is right back near the suspension unit, the plate sits above the front of the rear tyre.the plate is underneath the riders Bum almost, makes it hard to see from anywhere but directly behind. But yes it can be done with a bracket mount folded out of Aluminium, I will rivet to the bike and then get some small indicators to wire up, have to think a bit more about where to put the indicators tho cheers

Yeah i know where you mean i was thinking of same place, but i think the :Police: would hassel you more down there, and if i was you and gonna mount it back there i would get one of these for interactors also clean up the whole undertail

I got a ticket once for having an obscured plate on my cage.... and that was with one of those covers.

it has to be visible so far behind and at certain angles.
which means most tow bars on older cas obscure the plate and they are nearly invisible on most trucks due to the road spooge etc.

SPORK
10th November 2004, 16:10
Couldn't you put the plate on motors, so when you powered them on, it spun the plate around? You could have it spinning really fast, or just rotate it 'till it is the other way round :D

the cheapest method i found was to use old chain lube.. it use to cover the plate quite nicely in a brown/ black film that attracted road muck and dirt to it.
i did it not to hide from the coppers but to avoid (as said earlier) some bugger ringing *555 on my ass. this was a really good plan until i got pulled over.. then had to clean it off. but hey, only cost me a can of cheap chain lube (10$).

A bloke in Oz,sold several hundred spray cans full of clear paint as number plate obscuring stuff. He advertised the stuff through a popular hot car mag'.
It did absolutely nothing,I've often wondered how much I could make with the same scam here, hey some suckers belive CDs work with radar.
$20 a can but $15 to you's fullas aye <_<

Why would anyone need them?
If you can't see a camera van or pole camera you have more problems than tickets ahead.

When they park them all over the place in Vic...(even in Kombi's) you'd sort of want somethin like that....or not speed! ;)
In 1990(91?) i got done by a kombi sitting on a jack like it's wheel was getting changed!

Bah whats all this BS about buying stealth crap... simply get your warrant and rego, attatch it to the same place as where the numberplate attatches, and swing them down to cover the numberplate...

If the police pull you over, simply go "oh shit im sorry ill lift them back up *proceeds to get tool kit out and tighten them* " and your happy as larry.....(whoever larry is  )

I use this technique for *555 callers, as they sometimes get fucked off at you for lanesplitting....

yup thats the shit alrightOK, that may be the shit alright. But isn't it a pigs, sorry a Police Officer's job to weed out the shit. There's usually one worm, sorry Police Office hidden in the mud near a speed trap trying to fulfil his quota, sorry trying to safeguard public lives by attempting to prosecute careless drivers from driving at unsafe speeds.

So when the said swine, sorry Police Officer sees a vehicle with "something out of the ordinary" (remember these fine gentlemen get paid to look for things out of the ordinary) - won't he get fucking mad, sorry concerned about your well being and stop you to mess you up, sorry stop you to help protect and serve you and the public.

Please explain?
