Hint: 'Terrence' is not correct.

Make model and capacity for the bling.

My guess is either a Jawa or CZ, possibly 200cc twin two stroke.

Isnt it the DKW "Warhorse" 212cc from 1956, featuring the then all new "anal probe" tail light attachment?

2009 suzuki GSXR 1000

FilthyLuka
8th January 2008, 12:24

Zundapp. Dunno what size, but about 250 I rectum, and about 1960s vintage. Maybe the 250SU?

Big Dave
8th January 2008, 13:16
Yep Zundapp 250

Not correct model

Not correct model
Well, I give up then. The taillight nacelle thingo is the same as the SU.
Now I've done all the hard work, someone else can narrow it down and get the bling - which I didn't want anyway - it was all about the challenge, and the dusty parts of my memory suddenly creaking into life and surprising me..

MisterD
8th January 2008, 14:30
Google images for Zundapp 250 and it's the first piccy that comes up - I won't claim bling for that...

MisterD, no trophy for you!

Also on that page was this curious, curiously weird thing. Zundapp Janus Dornier.

MisterD
8th January 2008, 14:48
That German love for push-me-pull-you looks (boxster, TT etc) goes back a fair ways eh.

I only knew Zundapp for their scooters before...

Maha
8th January 2008, 14:53
Its kinda funny looking with a Haemorrhaged arse end so im picking its a ...WINGA!

Big Dave
8th January 2008, 14:56
Zundapp Janus Dornier.

They made full on 1000cc boxers.

Looks like a comfy seat and bigger brakes than my Francis Barnett - so it may stop from 100kph. Otherwise it is horrible and I have no desire to ride it.

Like we take style tips from a Barnett guy.

Even if they are correct.

Zundapp 200. Mind you- I'm guessing a bit- there are some bits that don't quite match up with any reference photos I can find. Still, if it's a Kiwi bike, that's hardly surprising.

Good game this- any more?

Big Dave

I had it as a Zundapp 250 Trophy.

Yeah - plenty to come.

I will have you know that I looked just the part on the Francis Barnett with a Beatles hair do. Yes I rode without a helmet until my first off.

2008 Hayabusa.

2008 Hayabusa.

Close, the arse-end is almost identical. You can tell it's not though by the different sized wheels.

I had a Zundapp 150cc scooter back in the late 1950's.
It went well and took me and my girlfriend (now my wife) all around Auckland. Traded it in on a 250cc Maicolletta when we shifted to Kaitaia 1958.

............Chinese?

vfxdog

............Chinese?

It's so ugly I'd have guessed USA origins....but if non-Allied, it can't be. Are we talking just non-Allied (that would include neutral) or are we talking Axis?

Can't be Chinese anyway- looks too well made, and in any event I believe they were supposed to have been our pals in WWII.

Axis, but post war.

MisterD
9th January 2008, 16:03
Axis, but post war.

Which must make it German, because no Italian would make something so ugly.

So I'll guess at DKW mainly because of that horrible headlight housing

pete376403
9th January 2008, 16:14
German, yes

MisterD
9th January 2008, 16:52
Another stab in the dark, on the basis that they also made some swoopily streamlined cars - Adler?

vfxdog
9th January 2008, 17:06
Just a thought- the Italians, famous for their engineering of reverse gears (probably why they got so good at bevels), weren't Axis by the end of WWII. Still, at least it's now narrowed down to what we came to know as West Germany. Made of melted down Spitfires and P51's I suppose. Looks rather good for the output of a bomb-ravaged industry.

Horex? Don't want to put "big butt German" into my search engine...will be up all night.
