Hey everyone! New here and new to riding and just looking at learning to ride and basic handling skills.... has anyone been to the above school and any feedback?
I see roadsafe is recommended by quite a few here but just considering my options.
This looks like a great site!
Cheers!

I did mine with Stephens driving school ... they were really good too. Roadsafe is one of many different and mainly good trainers in Wellington. Find one that trains in the area you wish to go to. I think that Roadsafe is Petone and maybe Wellington, Stephens in Lower Hutt and others in other parts.

Cheers folks :-) Thanks for the input! Can't wait to get to the stage where I can learn to ride. The last time I rode was too long ago to remember (10+ years!) and it was a farm bike so quite a different experience!

I totally agree! Great course. Did my Learn to ride and Basic Handling Skills Course with Roadsafe, sat my Learners theory, bought a bike in Stratford and rode it back to Welly ... a bit ambitious one might think but made it in one piece, though I have to admit, I have named my baby Gravel - ask no questions and i'll reveal nothing :bleh: but I'm still buzzing after every ride!

So do Stephen's and Roadsafe actually provide LTSA approved defensive driving courses, or just BHS? Roadsafe's website makes it sound like their "On Road" test isn't going to get you the reduction in R-time.
Streetwise are the only ones I spotted that advertise the street-talk course, but it'd be nice to have more options.

I did the defensive driving course with AA ... and a number of others have done the same. Stephens etc may be contracted by a course provider to do the on-road session, but I am not sure if they are.

Did you have to do the practical part in a car? Because when I called them today and asked them whether they allowed motorcycles the kid on the phone just sounded confused and frightened and eventually I went away, still unsatisfied.

That was my problem with the whole experience ... I had to do the practical in the car .... I have been driving for over 10 years at that stage ... but even so I found it did improve my driving and bike awareness skills ... (except for diesal!)
