View Full Version : Maverick 250 ride 12/1/01
Maverick
8th January 2008, 09:13
Meeting Shell Westgate 10am sharp, Departing 10.15am.
Ride will include a lunch stop somewhere on the way.
Important
This ride is aimed at riders who have a comfortable level of open road riding and who are confident handling their motorcycle in a range of weather and traffic conditions i.e most riders on their restricted licence.
It will be expected that all riders will be able and willing to safely ride at the open road speed of 100kph where applicable.
If you are not comfortable or confident riding at this speed then this is not a suitable ride for you.
If you are a learner or new rider and want advice or people to ride with while you are learning to ride then feel free to drop me a pm as there are many experienced riders who will be happy to help you out.
This ride wont be going fast so if you find riding at 100kph boring then this wont be the ride for you either, there will be no "fast group" catered for on this ride.
What you can expect to be provided on this ride:
A briefing on the ride and advice on group riding
A point man to lead the way
A Tail End Charlie to bring up the rear
(At least one) First Aid trained riders
A place that you can buy lunch
Any questions feel free to drop me a PM,
See you all at Westgate on Saturday,

Well if you won't tell me where we're going, can you tell me how far/long? I need to be in Parnell by 5pm or so :baby:
Shan't be wearing gloves. Or jacket. Or pants. Was too hot yesterday on the Kaiaua run, got all sweaty. So just boxers, a scarf and a helmet. S'ok?

We normally aim to be back by 3-4pm, however when I have more definite info I will let you know.
Please wear more than that, while I might have my large aviators to protect me from being blinded by reflected sunlight I doubt all others out on the road will be so fortunate. :bleh:

I knew talking to Mav on the ol'celly today and discussing my non-plan as a plan to turn up on the ride would enact wheels within the wheels of the biker gods.
and wouldn' ya know it .. I've been shanghaied to be a Pathfinder for clueless cagers on that day.
My little nephew is turning three and his parents (my brother and sister-in-law) have organamised a soiree to Clevedon where they shall be entertained at a petting zoo of some sort.
And there will be many families. And they have no clue where to go even though instructions and mini-map have been printed on the invites. And I am his "dearly beloved" uncle and I have to help.
I thought bikers were meant to be selfish and anti-social :oi-grr:

you can organize a ride to the zoo and back and your relatives can follow the cool bikers to the zoo. And once we are at the zoo the kids can sit on the bikes and make some cool pics on them. I put my friend's girlfriend;s son who is 3 on my bike and he loved it , couldnt wipe the smile of his face , check out my profile. I'm being Half serious by the way , and I havent been to the zoo in like 3 years so ... you never know :shifty:
