Bought an 06 CR250R from a fellow in taranaki. Got it looked at by energy honda in new plymouth who said it was mint bike... get it home to take for a blitz and after it's been running for about 20sec's it dies never to start again...

Took it into my trusty bike shop Boyd Honda in Hamilton who got it started but its running flat as....

Got it kinda cheap $5800. Still love the 4 stroke and enough power there for me but they don't make CR's anymore so I wanted to get one while they're still 'kinda' new:Punk:
Always loved 2 strokes and figured... "why not?" haha this is why not Pierce....<_<

The guy was running a hot plug which they're not suppose to but it seems like it could be power valve or something...

Um stale gas may have been it but i put fresh gas in it yesterday

Haha my mate's brand new KX only got 20hrs of running before it started chitting it's pants. Brakes failling, suspension basically seizing up:oi-grr:

I'll take honda anyday:niceone:

Bike is undergoing a top end rebuild now so at least I'll know the history from then. Haha I just want to ride it... guess I can take the CRF out tonight eh!

Why am I not suprised about energy honda telling you bullshit............Those guys need a fucking rev up,They told me my bike had 85psi compression and a day later i gave a test and got 160psi makes you wander if they know what there doing............How much they charge to look at the bike if you dont mind me asking

eeeer..... Your not talking about me aye haha... Suspension is supposedly meant to only last about that so the guy tells me (prolly all that water blasting ).... Front brakes fail due to suspension oil leaking on em......

Subsequently I end up with a dislocated shoulder and broken wrist only to find out today that both could be very troublesome in the future. My need a screw or two when I re-break it

Sooooo kids the moral of the story is to ensure your bike is up to spec before going at speed....

Bro that's bullshit aye. I was in Kawasaki yesterday looking for a measuring cup for fuel mixtures told him what you just said and he cracked up saying that the guys you bought your bike off are spinning shit:oi-grr:

Yeah energy honda.... WANKERS!!! They charged $40 which is f-all to get a bike checked over but means fuckall if they tell you bullshit... so much so it only ran for 20 sec's when i got home only for boyd honda to tell me the piston is shot and needs a top end done:rolleyes:

Sorry to Cam too for bringing up your misfortune:msn-wink:
