I knew a guy with a Jota, sounded fantastic.
Always wanted one, only every seen a ruff one and a over priced one (Eric Woods).
A old school mate picked up a reposed one.
He felt so sorry for the old owner, he went around to make sure it was OK for him to buy it and told him he could ride it any time he wanted.

Bought a 180 Jota new in 1976- one of the best bikes I've ever owned. Went all over the UK and Europe on it, often two-up. Stupidly sold it six years and no problems later. Well- there was one problem- had it serviced once by Phil Todd, a well known Laverda expert, and got it back running on two cylinders. When I returned and complained he told me I was imagining it and they wouldn't run on 2. When I pulled a plug lead off and it kept running and sounding the same he sheepishly took it round the back and sorted the duff plug. Isn't it always the same- your bike is running great, you take it in for a routine service and get it back running badly and all screwed up?

That does sound very nice. Don't hear triples often, and the few I hear regularly are all well-muffled modern Triumphs, so it's nice to hear a proper old-school air-cooled mill. Got the `thump' of a twin with the howl of a four.

 You'd never go back to a Guzzi after riding one

A good Laverda Mechanic is a rare beast these days.

Modern Triumphs sound plain poxy by comparison, Got to spend a fair bit of coin to get them somewhere near sounding good <_<
