Here's one for the brain boxes out there. I see in lots of job ads these days something about the company being an FMCG company. What is FMCG and what does it mean?

Fast Moving Consumer Goods , which translated into English means 'things you buy on a regular basis at places like your local supermarket.'

As far as I can make out, FMCG stands for an over-inflated perception of the skills needed to work in this sector.

I could not agree more.... Because of the short sales cycles and the volumes the results of any changes are obvious very quickly. You also get to work your arse off for bugger all but it hardens you up and you learn a lot about people!

As somebody who has spent 15 years as a technical sales professional and for the past 18 months in FMCG, I can say that the FMCG sector is perhaps the most demanding and competitive in this country.
