Depends.
If you're about to buy one off me, then they're cool/sexy/tough/styley/whatever.
Ask me to wear one and they're G-H-E-Y.

FAGHORTY!
It is a disgusting thing which makes me want to scratch my eyes out with used heroin needles. Oh, and the needles are rusty as well. That's how much I hate them.

hey, if you've got the balls to wear something so SILLY then You're COOL.
If You actually think that it looks COOL then You're SILLY.
I've seen your green one stevezx6r & what i liked about it is it stuck out like dog's...
so I had no trouble seeing you. in that respect i'd rate it as a passive safety device.
mate it's all good 8-)

Personally, I think they would make too much wind noise and create too much wind resistance when travelling at Warp Factor 17.3 (not that I would do that, as Speed Kills, and I've LearnedMyLesson.) But around town might be OK. Devil horns would be better.
Of course, it's all academic, as such silliness is prohibited on the LuxoSport 2K1.

It [a rider's mohican] definately looked silly sitting in a sad wet mess on the side of the middle straight at manfield on the Vic Club track day the other weekend...

whats the verdict,cool or silly?
Ummmmmm, NO!!!! Its not cool. Its more than silly, its idiotic.
Then again, guys on harleys generally wear them and Im not the type of guy to walk up to them and call guys on harleys fags.
I reckon any guy on a sports bike wearing one is trying to make a fasion statement and not ride like he is meant to. He deserves a :kick:
But, yea, ummmm??? NO!!!

Yeah they don't look too bad but not for me, also might get you some attention both wanted (and unwanted :Police: ).

If you only see them occasionally, they're cool. But if everyone starts wearing them, they'll be gay.

Well i don't really need anything to stand out, yellow bike with yellow leathers, or a fluero yellow jacket if i am riding around town(port of tauranga jacket)
But what i use to do around the xmas season i had rigged up so i could attach a santa hat to my helmet and ride around with that one, its amazing the strange looks you get, and some of the looks the kids give, bit of fun (c:<

I'm dubious about helmet mo's.
Problem is, see, the floppy pink bunny ears, right? They're so obviously gay that they're not. IYSWIM. Case in point - 'busa rider that stoppied up beside me once along Te Atatu road. Big pink bunny ears and bobby bunny tail on his helmet. Not gay. Silly. Silly is fine.
But there's always the slight suspicion that someone wearing an orange helmet mohawk thinks that it's cool. Which is gay.
I almost bought bunny ears at one point, but chickened out. I think that once I have the next bike, which will be large and black and permanently dirty, I will feel comfortable enough in my two-wheeled heterosexuality to wear fluffy pink things on my manly black Shoei.

Right here goes. To all you clowns who think they are silly :moon: . But then again every one is entitled to thier opinion. I have one the goes on the yellow helmet. Now i don't wear it all te time but if i am goin on charity runs/rallys/some big rides then i'll stick it on the helmet.
you do get a lot of attention and i think it looks cool.
Bad points are it creates a lot of wind drag as well as crosswinds can be interesting. So the old neck gets a bit of a pounding. As to the suction problem well it was solved with a bit of silly-tape :killingme
BUT at the end of the day it's what you want. I am a bit of a silly character and i think it looks cool, if that makes me silly so be it. Would i wear one all the time ....maybe but i don't know cause there is no reason to, will i wear it again most definatly. :killingme

im thinking of getting one for when i get the ZXR on the road. Only problem is i have no idea what colour to get (definately not pink or purple). Also i have been weighing up whether to go with the mohawk or some of them devil horns which i saw the other day... i wonder what my christian friends will think!!!

i dont know about mohawks - although i did think them a bit of a giggle when i first saw them - but the idea of something odd stuck to ones helmet is amusing! :P i would lean towards the santa hats and bunny ears. :D

Now they are a cliché they are as gay as those stupid red noses people used to put on their cars, which was alright for charity, but leaving them on was stupid & unoriginal.
A friend used to put those little pencil-end rubber monsters on the end of her brake & clutch levers. That was cool. But did I run out & buy some? NO. That would be unoriginal & thus un-cool.
PS: further thoughts: Various reports have indicated (and sorry can’t remember which one, perhaps the later Hurt report) that helmets are best as smooth as possible. If you hit the ground & they catch, the rotation could break your neck. Seemingly anything rubber or sticky could give you a good twist in a microsecond before it detached.
Still think they are such a good idea?

I have a pair of Tigger ears on my helmet, they probably look a bit silly, but I don't care! I'm just used to them being there, I think my helmet would look funny without them now.
Kids love them, and I think they make people take a second look, which hopefully means they've noticed me and aren't about to run me over.
Of course there's the odd "nice ears" comment which I always seem to get at petrol stations, and I'm not quite sure how I should take that... :o

Anyone remember when "Who framed Roger rabbit" came out. There were riders around who stuck soft RR toys on the back of their helmets. Bloody hilarious sight this terrified looking rabbit flappin around as a bike passed you. Maybe that's why I wore a mohawk for awhile. Made Kids in cars, and cute young mums smile so why not "stupid is as stupid does" (what the hell did that mean anyway Forrest Gump)

Mohawks on helmets. If you want to look common go for it. Now if you want to be different stack one on the tank. :ar15: :ar15: :ar15: or even better add to front and rear guards. Gauranteed to turn heads. :Oi: :Oi:

I think they look really cool.
Note: This is from the girl who used to wear Dalmation ears on her helmet. Then she got a serious bike or two (Italian style) and decided that the dog's ears were passe. Then she got given a set of Devil's horns and a tail, so wore them (carried on with the theme of Diabolic helmet and Diablo tyres y'see) but the cotton holding the tail to it's sucker fell off on a ride and she hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet so has taken the horns off in sympathy.
I'm a very individualistic person and things like mohawks, ears etc appeal to the kid in me. Life is too short to be taken seriously.
