Yep, bullshit can have a life of its own on the interweb.

Ha, welcome to the internet. Where everything belongs to everyone because no-one owns anything... Now you know how (some) musicians feel about mp3's.

But yeah - he should of dropped a link at the bottom of the page - but at least he didn't pretend he wrote it!

Go work though, it's not a bad read.

How the heck did you find it? I mean, probably google, but what inspired you to search for your own post in the first place?

Ixion
10th January 2008, 23:31
I didn't. I was googling Spagthorp generally. I keep my eyes open just in case one should come on the market.

Pish. You start a legend and get indignant when folk repeat it.

Futurely email your jottings exclusively to yourself

or

Bridge - over it. :done:

I'm particularly amused when my ads are scanned and re-dealered.
That's art baby.

I'm not indignant. Amused. I reckon on signing up to a whole bunch of other bike forums an starting a thread about Spagthorp, then linking that to it. I want to see if it can become an Urban Legend like the Zorch.

I will supply images based on a scott squirrel if required.

I was going to say - but made weirder - but that would be too hard.

I'l post it on the cycleworld forum if you like..... along the lines of "I have seen this bike mentioned, and here is a bit of a history, but does anyone know of one I can buy to restore"?

though, being Septics, they might not get it.

Rule 1 of plagiarisation: Read what you are stealing to ensure that any incriminating references are removed.

I note that the Twat from Texas was unaware of Rule 1.

Ixion, I hope you're not claiming to have invented the Spagthorpe - I saw references to Spagthorpe years before 2005. I was logging on to rec.motorcycle on usenet when dialup BBS's were all the go - that would be back in '93 or thereabouts.
And FWIW, I do have the Zorch archives, and yes they are still funny.

Of course not. Just the article. Everybody knows the Spagthorpe (Or Spagthorp - spellings vary) was invented in the late 1890s by Julian, Lord Spagthorpe. Before even my time.

EDIT: Everybody except Mr SixpackBack, who never did quite get it

Were you in on the one on that american bike stunting website. I started a whole thread on rim jobs in that one! :moon::moon: The yanks didn't know what hit em! BTW I'm so in if we're doing it.
