ive heard of issues with the sidestands and vibrations but mine is curently sticking in one place and not retracting or poping back out, i sprayed some crc on it hoping it would help but to no avail.
So everytime i take my bike off the sidestand before i start it i have to pull the switch out so that it will release... anyone ideas on fixing it or is it just a replace job.. ?

If you bought it brand new, take it back to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty. Otherwise speak to Pancakes. I'm pretty sure I remember reading about him having a similar problem

Cut the bastard off. Feckin' side-stand switches and clutch switches... cor... they never last, and always seem to strand people in the middle of nowhere, where they then post up a thread asking why their bike has naffed out (blaming the carburettor).

Hell no. Just need a kill-switch I think -- maybe not even that.
Just work out whether you need to leave the wires joined or apart.

Hell no. Just a fucken good idea. If you cut it off, then one day your mind will be on something else and you will forget its down. Then on the first left hand corner you'll crash and you'll say to yourself "what the fuck was I thinking"

I agree. How on earth do you forget to flick the stand up? It's like forgetting to put your helmet on, or flick the starter up.
I like the low-tech method of idiot-proofing on my RS. Rubber tab sticking out on the bottom of the stand, so the first corner you go around the rubber will touch first and flick the stand up. Not that I've forgotten yet.
