Well I'm gonna head out around the bays for some thing to do. If it rains all the better for the experience. I'll be leaving BP by Te Papa at 1030 in case anyone else is keen to brave the weather gods with an easy ride.

I met my self at caltex, filled up with some gold nectar and set off.
The drizzle making for a nice, refreshing ride. Taking it easyish but still a good flow in to the first few turns until... vooomp my front end vanishes from under me.
Doh! Just minor scrapes to the bike and no damage to me :-)

Oh Gawd that sux and very glad that stuff is largely ok. What really rips your nickers is scratching your beloved bike, I hope it's not too bad.
It sounds like it was diesel and misty rain (again) on that damned road. A week or so ago Wannabiker reported that there were stripes of diesel on all the right hand corners. I'd have thought there'd been enough rain to flush all that crap away but I guess there's careless people dropping it every day
See if you'd stayed here and helped me with the kitchen cabinetry ....

Stink! Was it just the wet or were you avoiding something? Have you checked tyre pressures? Glad to hear no permanent damage done.
I also met myself only it was the BP opposite Te Papa. I'm glad to report that my ride around the bays was much less eventful than yours. View up the Hutt valley looked very nasty indeed.

I was heading in to a corner, probably not taking enough note of the surface and my cornering. countersteered in just a tad too hard and whammo very little warning and the ominous metal & plastic v's road...
Tyre pressures are fine, the tyres are cheep dual purpose , crap in the wet and the front is nearly due for another one.

Bad luck mate!
I skipped the Tukas and went North (and caught up with some of the Manawatu crew) after Wayne708 called and said he didnt see any kbers on the hill so we met up near the Paiahatua Track

Likewise, I met up with myself at Rimutex, although I was running a bit late, I was thinking when do KB rides leave on time? bugger maybe to day. Left the Hutt in very light rain with lasted to just passed the summit and by Featherston it was hot and sunny. Rang Sels1 to see were he was, and, seeing he was still at home arranged to meet him at the Pahiatua track. Next stop was at the entance to Ashhurst where a quick chat with Cowboys and Menie to get permission to enter for lunch. Lunch out of the the way it was of to Palmy and Anza motor cycles so Sels1 could check out all the new Triumph's before heading for home.
Maybe catch you all next time.Wayne.

LOL its was a stunner over the Rapa today. Clivoris, me & 5 others headed over the hill today for a cracker of a day.
Once Ive finished editing the video off the back of my bike I will post the link & let all you softies see what you missed.
The roads were good and clear weather once we got to Featherston, apart from the fairly solid northerly breeze.
We headed around the lake & on to Toppies for a quick coffee and out the back through Gladstone, over water tower road and headed out to Tunui for a feed.
I have brought a wee video camera & took it out for a test run today. got so nice footage off the back of my bike & from the front of Clives. It going to take a little bit of trial & error but and in all Im happy for the money spent.
