Ok - so I know it is sad that I am on here at this time on this day but hubby is out and I have only myself to amuse myself…tragic

Anyway after much nagging from hubby, Skunk urging me to nagg SkunkControl to get out there, Mrs Kendog chomping at the bit AND keeping in mind the fact that I am looking to rebuild my riding skills and ‘get out there’ (do we have the legal technology for road skill building? ...not yet boss but we soon will) I have agreed and am keen to, give this slipway buckets thingameee a go and wanted to see if you other ‘Norf Welly Massif’ Galz are keen.

I personally don’t feel confident enough to be terribly enthused about the prospect of mixing it on the slipway with the ‘pros’ nor am I terribly keen to be out there on my own…well I might consider that if no one watches me……

But despite all that paranoia and pussydom, I am keen to have a go! Socialise with someGalz! Watch others, learn and try things out and have a laugh and maybe some cucumber sandwiches in the process - HA!

Anyway as I said I personally am not planning on mixing it with the 'pros' but am keen to go round and round a bit.

Any other ‘Norf Welly Massif’ Galz interested in giving it a go too?

C'mon ladies (especially those of you with men who do it already – there seem to be a few of us afterall)...how about it?

I’m hoping that if there's enough of us we might…possibly…hopefully be able to twist the boys arms into allowing some of us a run of our very own on the day….

Oh and just in case…I don’t think just cos we are girls we ‘need' our own run I get that you all are probably quite confident in your abilities and happy to mix it with the regulars and that's cool  I however am a sook and an out of practise rusty one at that!

So who’s keen?

Will post a link to the best quality video of the boys on the slipway if you haven’t already seen it…I’m sure if your boy is anything like mine you have, several times…or he’s got it on his favourites…[ but if not watch this space ]

Hubby said Str8Jacket makes a guest appearance too...

YAY!!! First bite...Bling for you comin chick! I think the fellas will tell us to NOT worry about that as they get on them and go probably a heck of a lot more mad than us polite ladies might. ANyway - I can say that I won't be trying to blitz anyone...just av a go! PLUS - Craig has assured me that the purpose of buckets is that you know you can BIFF it away...NOt that it's the aim however!

Not sure what the 'BITCH' linky thingame was - Craig said it might be Christine? ANyway keen to give it all a go but Craig said I can just 'rape' (yeah right) his bike so someone else can use the Bitch. Working out gears as we speak...I don't have any good boots though?! Wish my road bike would hurry up...planning to get some (and new helmet and jacket) in the same deal.

Absolutely! Agree...that has stopped me riding the SV and trying my hand at buckets for the last...however long too. Craig assured me not to worry and well...he does owe me a bike anyway so what the hey!

Youa are a gem woman...that's mighty kind of you to offer and will definately give them a bash if you are not too worried about the possibility that they might meet the tarmack!

I'm about an 8.5 - 9 depending on the make...the problem for me (and why I don't have any) is getting them done up over my muscular calves! Have stupidly small ankles but generous calves....hee hee hee sob!

I have the exact same problem!! I have to wear my pants over top of my boots otherwise I can't zip them up, very annoying ain't it, so rest assured, if they go over my 'calves of steel' (lol), they'll go over yours, and no probs about scuffs, they already are and it all adds to the 'street cred'!!

Anyway in contact with Bayden to see if I can't swing us a couple of dates where we could go out as our own class - so as not to interfere with the boys season and of course cos sometimes a girl just wants to get her hair done or do lunch on the weekend...eh?

I hear a rumour there may be a new class what only allow's slower riders so that everyone has better chance.

I doubt bayden will be able to organise such a date simply because its not affordable for him.
It costs about 4XX$ for half a day for the track hire and some more for the first aid lady.
This equivlants to 15 Buckets (including the nursey lady) @ 35$ each.

Just come along to the boys bucket's pay 10$ each for a couple pratice 'sessions'

Us bucket boy's dont bite.... much

Sounds good.

Not suggesting we take a full day at the track...HELL no! Thinking more along the lines of we could have our own mini series within yours...you know as in a race or two at a couple of the rounds with a 'prize giving' of our own at the end of those dates.

The idea I think is the more the merrier and I personally am well happy to pay the $35 to enjoy the day with some chicks oh and my man...I guess?! :devil2:

And few more punters can only help on the fundage side of things.

Absofricken lutely! I think either HOT or Nipple but then maybe Baby...ooooowwww I don't know....Kinda like the idea of picking the pink you like and that suits your personality...sorry too much of a Libran to make my mind up. Urm, is there like a where and when? Or is it still in the throes of being born? Heh :o

Count me in, just tell me where/when and delegate necessary duties to ensure people can't accuse me of being slack. I draw the line at sewing/knitting etc, but macrame is feasible.

BUT.

As we are only having 2 races a day that count for the points..... at 15 laps each direction... which only last a MAX of 10-15min each...

that leaves 3.5hrs of "other" races and practise...

we have at the moment

open class... that DOES mean OPEN.. you turn up and if you want to race/ride really, really fast, (like i do:lol:) you can go out.

50cc class.... this is for ....... 50cc engined bikes HONEST!:argue:
in this class, we usually let out the noobies, ( and me cause i suck.. at racing..)

scooter class.... ( but some of the scooters go in the open)

ALSO we have the motard class...

we also will stop all racing to let out noobies that need the time by themselves... this is a GREAT time for all new comers, as there is time for training...

hopefully there will be at least 3 bikes for other people to abuse/ride/to have ago to see if they would like to get into the sport.

like Quall said, bring ya $ 10... helmet, boots, leathers ( ok we have spare of these also..or borrow from one of the other races that is your size)

i have a bike...her is named Christine.....:Pokey:..yes if i can get her running you may have a go!........:chase:

but getting to the main point again...

if there are enough girls ( ie, more than 3) i am SURE that the boys (perverts) will love to let yous all out in your own races with your own points!!
but to do this you will need to turn up and be counted!... all the time. the season ran ALL last year, once a month..
we are all hoping this will be the case this year

yes this pretty much sums it up...

BUT.

As we are only having 2 races a day that count for the points..... at 15 laps each direction... which only last a MAX of 10-15min each...

that leaves 3.5hrs of "other" races and practise...

we have at the moment

do what i used to do with luke... when he was tooooo young to ride, put him in the car seat next to the track where he could see what was going on!
when he was older..3-5 years, he would wonder around the pits and "help" all the others....

Hello fello BoBs!

The organiser is keen and is soon to release the round calendar.

What we need to determine is how we'd like to run things and I am keen to just confirm there are enough of us to see it through and that we run it in a way that works well for all concerned.

As a ball park to give you a feel for it - Currently the boys pay $35 a day and that gets them 2 15min points racing and about an hour or so of practise. The run track in both directions too so keep those bum cheeks even

ANyway - the season is once every month from roughly from End Feb through to December. I foresee a prizegiving with girly biker trophies! oooooooo anyway - snap out of it woman

I offer you some questions to consider...

How many of you want to just flag the girls race idea and just get out there with everyone else?

OR
How many of you are keen for a full season of 1 or 2 races at each round?

Or
How many of you would be more keen to just join the fellas for a couple of rounds at a civilised spacing (beginning, middle and end kinda deal).

Let me know then I can look into options with Bayden based on where the majority of the groups interest lies.

bye

Ok ok...so now that it's all on the 'table' it's a bit scarey isn't it?! I hope you aren't all backing out now...sounds a little bit suspect. I'd just like to say to that 'trying it out' is probably best done a couple of times....know I'm going to suck at this and if I were to decide on keeping at it off the back of my first couple of trips round the slipway I probably wouldn't do it again for shame!

I hear that yas want to give it a go first and without the boys...that's my angle too and Bayden seems pretty keen to let us be a group on our own out there.

'Racing' is a nice term and I apply it to myself in this instance as: Just trying to go as fast as I am comfortable with (ie: not stalling bike in corners cos I slowed down too much)...which for my first couple (or 100) goes will no doubt be rather slow!

Have been and watched the boys heaps of times on various tracks over the years and it looks like great fun. I have yet to see someone bin it and not be in hysterical laughter about binning it....read that as - it doesn't hurt cos you ain't goin that fast and you ain't that high off the ground!:headbang:

Given most of yal have come back to me saying you are either 'easy' (not cheap though aye Trudes?:innocent:) or have commitmnets that would make a full season commitment difficult - I'm thinking the best way to arrange our first 'dedicated NWMBoB series' would be to pick 3-4 dates spaced throughout the series and ask that we get 2 races at them....that way we can arrange to ALL be there to ALL give it a go and to have heaps of fun in the process...and we can arrange to girly up the pits (well maybe just our bit) so we can be in ultimate comfort for the day also! Plus with only a couple of dates we would still be allowing the boys to have their sandpit mostly to themselves for the season :dodge:

My intentions are: I'm going to try to get there for most of the rounds....need the practise and would love to join hubby and watch him(he is the defending Open class champ this season) so if anyone is else is keen to pop down - I should be there...and since I can get into hubbies old race leathers I will be pushing myself to have a go with any other very slow learner types....if not with other ladies.

Will post the dates once I have them and we can look to pick some suitable ones IF all agree with my proposal that is. Otherwise I'll get me damn pink t-shirt and wear it with pride all on my ownsome :woohoo:

Jeesh girl, you really dont have to worry about speed! It really aint all that fast!! Hopefully I will have the A going properly soon so you can ride it but in all honesty it'll probably be OK with a top speed of 60 kph!

I don't have any probs riding about with the boys, we don't need any special privileges now do we girls, so whatever goes really as far as I'm concerned.
I will get my pink shirt shortly and we'll wear them with pride together!!

Here's one to tell at the gathering...

A married couple, in their early 60's, was celebrating their 32nd wedding
anniversary at a quiet, romantic little restaurant.

Suddenly, a tiny beautiful Fairy appeared on their table.

She said: "For being such an exemplary married couple and

especially this time, I will grant you each a wish."

"Oh, said the wife, I want to travel around the World with my
darling husband" ..

The fairy waved her magic wand ; and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen
Mary II luxury liner

and Ten Thousand Dollars appeared in her hands.

Then it was the husband's turn.

He thought for a minute and said: "Well, this is all very romantic,
but an opportunity like this will never come again. So I'm going with my
mind and not my Heart ".
" I 'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger
than me."

The wife and the Fairy were shocked and disappointed.

But a wish is a wish.

So, the Fairy waved her magic wand, and - Poof! - the husband became 92
years old.

Men who are ungrateful bastards should remember; Fairies are Female.

Hello BoB's

To progress this all beyond statements on KB and to get things really moving...I would like to propose the following 3-4 weekends to have 'dedicated BoB race sessions' worked into the days programme.

I am proposing these dates as they allow enough time for us all to get sorted, maybe pop along to just watch and maybe have a wee trial, plus ensuring bikes are up and running and it will still allow the boys to have their uninterrupted boys fun time on the track.
PROPOSED DATES:APRIL 20th. July 27th. Oct 26th (and if we are still going and keen the last one for the year (including prize giving maybe)) November 23.

Again the reason I am only proposing three weekends for the 'dedicated galz sessions' was because everyone came back saying they wouldn't be able to commit to the full season...this way there are only a few dates that you need to put off your champagne brunches and pedicure appointments :bleh::laugh:

Other than that I get the impression from both Bayden and many of the other guys that there is always the option of rocking up, paying a tenner and having a go either in the practises or a 'beginners session' which will take off if enough people are there on the day.

SO: If you are fur real and are available on those dates let me know...maybe PM me so I can keep a track of how many of us there are...that way I can chat things through with Bayden. :niceone:
