You could probably buy one of these for much less, and it might even last longer....

I agree, but I was putting it in context of the 250 market in NZ at the moment.
This one may in fact be knackered, but people are getting far more than that for bikes which appear far more knackered.

Agreed, of course that wouldn't be the case if all the idiots out there stopped reinforcing the condition of the 250 market by accepting those kinds of ludicrous prices. Most of them are listed at at least twice what I reckon they are worth.

I bought my old fzx250 when it had done 50,000km and did another 30,000km before selling it and it was still going strong (although a bit rattley).
It depends on how the bike's been treated and serviced etc, but at $2000 that looks like a good price to me.

Hi all,
I am looking for a 250 to start on after being off a bike for 26 years. I think I am looking at a cruiser but need to look at anything that is under $4,000. Is there anyone that knows enough about bikes in general or ZZR's that would be able to have a look at this bike and maybe take it for a spin and let me know if it is fit for a non mechanicaly minded person to consider buying.
Thanks in advance

There was another thread started on KB very recently about this bike.
Apparently the 'owner' doesn't reply back to emails and it has been listed before...
(I recognised the Trade Me advert etc....)
EDIT: Here is the KB thread about the bike:
