Matt black, but primer grey on the bits that break when you crash. :innocent:

Difficult without seeing the bike but a combo of Satin or matt black as primary with gun metal grey and touches of gloss black, maybe even a spot of yellow(pin stripe) in there too.:niceone:

I have to curse Colin Edwards after seeing Faster II, but to quote a better man than I, "I have never been a crasher", well not much any way...knock on wood.

Season and a half on the 400 without a crash......nearly a crash in every race but........any shade of black is easy...

Stealth is good too.

Hmmm, I reckon top half of fairing and bottom half.....oh fark it! Paint it similar to a black R1 only with yellow of red pin stripes between the two colours to break up all the blackness.

Matt black looks scruffy real quick, mate.
You showed some good speed on the faw-hundy, so I reckon you could pick up a sponsor or three if your bike looks half decent.

I picked matt black. but in all reality you want it to look sharp you spent a good amount of coin on it and you dont crash often so give it a nice paint job in gloss black or something with a good ceramic coat on the tank.

The fairings are a bit rough but I might get my 'artist' mate to do a 'Slayer' CD cover on the tank.

I reckon a blended silver and white paint job would look really good...as long as the blending wasn't to fussy or to complicated...it would still make for cheap repair...but deano...your gunna make your own mind up dispite what the out come of this pole is...but I have a gut feeling it will be anyting but blue and white...lol

One of the considerations is your going to have orange number backgrounds.

If you go white blue and orange you end up looking like a MC cop.

I really think light main colour with a very bold darker colour over the top. Any fine detail is only visable in the pits anyway so on the track you want something that stands out so your fans can pick you out easy.

Don't do anything like someone elses bike or you will be forever being confused with them.

Craig Shirriffs bike is very diffent and although I didn't like it at first the more I see it the better it looks. Dunno why he went for Robby the Robot (Silver)leathers.

So my pick is for a light power colour with bold darker colour over the top.

Dark grays and matt black will look shit in photos as you will blend in with the track surface.

Don't use VHT enamels as they wash off like watercolours with water when fuel hits them.

Duplicolor acrylic enamels are really easy to get great finishes with and are cheaper than laquers assumming you are doing the spraycan thing.

Re: number boards.

I'm entering in F3 at Paeroa, Pro Twins in VMCC (F3 if no pro twins available), and maybe Pro Twins at Manfeild round of the Nationals next year (if there are enough entries on the grid....???).

So which colour number board do I actually need and do I have to change it if I change classes ?

What if I wanted to cross enter at Paeroa F3 and F2 ? I haven't noticed people changing their number board when cross entering.

People seem to ignore the numberboard and regulation sizes in the rulebook. Why have rules if they aren't inforced? Correct sized numbers and backgrounds are hard to fit on modern racetails especailly if you have a 3 digit number.

I'd say if your bike is ProTwin use a protwin background for everything. That way when your racing against F3 spec bikes people will know your doing it on a ProTwin.

Thinking more on your paintwork. Isn't your tank in good nic and original colour? If so I'd base my paintjob around leaving the tank original.

Why haven't you entered for the Manfeild round of the Nationals in Feb?

The tank was mint.....until I sanded it. But realistically, it ain't ever going back on the road so I might as well go to town on it. And orange soooooo clashes with red dahling.

If you do the VMCC it will be pissing down with rain and cold as hell. Doing the Nats its 5 weeks off so you have plenty of time. The weather will be great and you'll get heaps of tracktime and 3 good races against people I know you can beat or aleast have fun trading positions with.

Then your bike would look just like the best looking bike around.

But the rider wont be as cute as one i know :msn-wink:

If you get a proper paint job this time instead of 12 spray cans i recon what ever you do it will look good im sure, not that it didnt on the CBR.

As for the number boards colour ..... who cares as its all transponders nowdays so the number is trivial except for a race caller .
