My mate has bought a mid nineties ZRX400 and he will be riding down the road, stop at the lights and the revs will drop and slowly die. Will restart with full choke and have to keep the revs up.Then comes right till you go to stop again.Anyone had any trouble like this before or would anyone know what the cause be?The engine has been fully reconditioned. And has been back to the bike shop 4 times in the last month.
I had trouble once with a CB400/4 doing similar things but it was the vacum and when you opened the petrol cap it would release the pressure.Have told him to try this to see if it is that.cheers.

check the carbs, probably have goo in them. Does the ZXR400 have CV carbs?

ZXR400 have CV carbs?

Both the ZRX400 and the ZXR400 have Keihin CVKs.

Now the ZRX400, that's a mean bike... miniature ZRX1200 :niceone:

well he has heard from the bike shop and they reckon it was just the carbs needed balancing and the throttle cable adjusted as the handle bars had been changed so the cable was to long and catching on something. He has yet to try it out and see if any better. But he isnt sure wether they are just mucking him around. After 4 times in the shop in the last month i dont blame him.will keep posted on outcome.cheers for the help.
