Got radar'd by bike copper heading North on motorway out of Welly on wed night, had just waved to biker heading south and then saw copper on left side, gave him a nod as he was packing the radar gun into his pannier. Carried on down the middle lane, cop pulls into the middle lane red and blues going, so i then pull into left lane. He follows me into left lan still blue and reds, so i pull over on shoulder, switch off and dismount. Start heading towards the pigger then i was shocked(not tazered!) this pig could actually speak proper english, no snorts or anything, imagine my astonishment after all the posts on here about pigs in blue uniforms.
Cop checked out my bike and seemed impressed with it, hadnt seen one of them before. Asked me if there was a reason for my speeding, classic line from him "you know sunny day, big bike", i said nope no reason, he thanked me for stopping so quickly and took my details.
Long story short, ticketed for 115 in 100 zone, $80 fine, 20 demerits.
Pleasant experience, guess the whole me being polite and him noticing that meant he was polite - OR its a case of arseholes in all professions stuff it up for the good ones out there, and we only get to here about the bad stories.
thanks Welly cop, did his job politely and was no big fuss.

Mate, first you find out whether he's gpoing to give you a ticket, then decide whether your going to use him as a sounding board for retard jokes. If you're gonna have to pay 80 bucks, get something out of it.

You thank him for relieving you of 80 bucks, I suppose he has shown you the error of your ways, oh, and, have a pleasant day sir.

And what accident black did this occur on? Oh let me guess, none, I bet he was on a stretch of road that most honest folk would accidentally speed on.
Bet you won't see him out late on a Fri/Sat trying to get boi racers, nooooo too much hassle that.

We are missing the most important point here! The southbound rider didn't give you the 'whirling finger!'
Harley rider I bet. Did he have fingerless gloves by any chance? Or one of those 'bandido' face scarves perhaps?

So to summarise; you have learned to bend over and say thank-you when the man in blue drops the soap in the shower.

That's right.
I heard a story of a Wellington biker getting stopped for speeding up the gorge (like who doesn't do 85 up there, eh?;)) Anyways this gentleman was well known to be umm.
Let us say, an arrogent prick to just about anybody.
Said gentleman refuses Mr Policemans request to take of his helmet and gets a night on the house at the corner of Victoria and Harris Street.:buggerd:
So it usually pays to do as the man says, and nobody gets hurt!

Pardon my interfering if this is not "Spot the deliberate mistake" but if the gun was being put away how were you "recorded" If you didn't see him until after you were pinged then I would say lack of attention. If it was not deployed then how did he get a fix?

Definitely inattention - youre bang on. He obviously got me from a long way off coz he was putting it away as i went past, though in my defence, in 3 lanes of traffic with copper on far left shoulder he might have been a little harder to spot. Still i was speeding and got done for it - fair enough in my books.
Oh and no it wasnt a harley rider, was yellow sports bike and got a slight nod, was simultaneous with then looking left to see the plod and gave him a nod.
And yes Steam when the police tells me ive done something wrong, when i too know i have, then i do act polite and courteous. Not too sure about the soap in the shower buzz though, guess whatever gets you off mate, each to their own.

Has any technical wizard thought up a device that quietly destroys the inner workings of the police equipment when it locks onto you?
Naturally I don't speed but I could do a course on that so that they could be sure to lock onto my bike on the odd occasion!

Well explained but it was not me that advocated the "Pick up my soap" that would be adding insult to injury. I still believe that you were targeted, in three lanes of traffic, but that's what Uncle Helen hath decreed. Guess things will be different after the elections...........smacks self in head. New Politicians will be in power but they are still politicians and therefore reside in another galaxy. Whichever way it goes...........be afraid, be very afraid. A united front will help but it must have 100% of the KB membership to succeed. Look to our Aussie neighbours as to what they do when unwelcome legislation is passed. Try google and search "Wransacked" Peace brothers and Uncle Helen. :Oi:

Yeah, it's possible. But no, nobody's done it yet.
The USA is working on a small EMP weapon (Electromagnetic Pulse) that can be fired from a truck or plane without destroying the vehicle. That will permanently destroy anything with a chip in it.
Such a thing already exists but at the moment it requires a large nuclear weapon detonated in the upper atmosphere. The US have very large EMP weapons designed to kill all electronic devices from your watch, to a bike's brain, to a vast server farm, to a whole city, all the way up to slagging all chips on an entire continent when used in an array.
Imagine the devastation if China got pissed off enough to fire an EMP (not hard for them to make) over the USA, and it would permanently shut down every car, bike, computer, etc etc. Permanently. Destroy every company, all refineries, all cities blacked-out, all cars immoblised.
Of course, the US military would retaliate with a full-scale nuclear strike because their systems are hardened against EMP, so although nothing in the US made after 1980 would work, China would be a glowing ruin.

That sounds exciting.
Helen Clark will probably legislate against all that in order to get the green support and form another government later this year! John.

Could it have been a laser unit? They are supposed to be used stationary. I thought hand held radars had been phased out?
