Who else plays "Match the bike with its rider" when you are somewhere?

An example.
Pulled up outside an establishment for a cool refreshment and there, sitting patiently outside, were a collection of bikes. Crusiers, sports, and adventure.

Inside were a collection of bikers of various shapes and forms.
Who rides which bike? This is the challenge/game.

Guessing who might own which bike is an intersting excercise. My success rate so far is, ooooh, about 3%

The tallest, gangly bugger, does NOT necessarily ride a decent size bike, and the "ant on a missile" is more frequent than what you would expect!!!

A bit of fun when chatting with the owners sometimes dosen't always assist in the decision making process.

Do do that but then again I am a 'girl' sorry 'woman'. I like that you highlight that we sometimes have the tendancy to stereotype people and can be very surprised when that safe little box/ pigeonhole we have placed someone in isn't the right one. Do you do it with flash cars too?

That's the very best thing about bikes.

You meet people and develop friendships with people you'd never meet any other way.

Most of them normal! Fancy That!

I'm a 'girl' too, & I play that guessing game too. The thing is to, work out which lady rider rides which bike, & if they do actually ride a bike or are the pillion. :bleh:

The girls that ACTUALLY ride are quite easy to pick I thought.

Yes, my partner says that too, but maybe I just under estimate the way I look when actually riding the bikes. I'm always saying I NEVER want to be a 'butch' looking lady rider. Partner reckons there's no way I could ever look 'butch', however, he is bias. :msn-wink:

I LOVE this game - especially when I am riding with a group of others and those new comers to the establishment see our helmets and gear and try and match us up with the bikes...

It is a great conversation starter - especially when they interested in the bikes themselves.

I went on a ride over 'the' hill a couple of years ago with Lynda, Hamish and Flame (I had 'Patrick the 748' at the time, and Flame had the 996), and if I remember correctly NONE of their guesses were right, they we had a chat about the bikes afterwards and it was neat.

Started me off thinking about it - and ever since then I try and match rider to bike, and pillion to rider. I often get it wrong...

I think its the same for any hobby though, got chatting to a guy with a Samurai 4x4 running hilux gear in the queue to the ferry as I have a Samurai as well great way to kill an hours wait.

yep they are the ones with bike keys in their pockets....

either that or they are the reasonably confident looking kinda women not standing around the boys looking like they are uncomfortable, plus can hold a conversation that isnt about nail polish or their hair..... :2thumbsup

Perhaps I'm in touch with my feminine side? Possibly since that side and the male side haven't communicated this fact, then perhaps I'm the male side?? Hence male? *checks in trousers to be sure*:shit:

Do you do it with flash cars too?
Nope. They are all driven by fat, ugly, balding twats... Correction: if not balding, then growing a ponytail with plenty of grey hair.:shifty:

They tend to be very opinionated...
