View Full Version : Western Springs Noise Levels

Western Springs has been going for 75 years. How many people have lived there for over 75 years? Do they really have a right to look at shutting down the speedway because the neighbours find it a bit noisy? They should have thought of that before they bought houses in the area. :brick: :argh: :angry2:

Stop being sensible and go back to getting drunk and complaining about the neighbours.
Next they'll be complaining about the smell from the zoo, and being attacked by water fowl at the park.

They already complain about the Zoo,an them baby ducks can be very agressive ya' know, not to mention Kids, familys, people walking the dog ect, ect.
Hey these people bought in the area an got it cheap because of the springs.
They always intended to complain and have the springs shut down so their investments would incress in value.

Yet another sign of the lunacy this society is coming too.
These people are no different to the gits who buy an apartment in town and then complain about the noise.
They always remind me of those hillbillies who live in Tornado Ally who cry on tv each year when their caravan gets blown away. Or the fools who build their houses in the middle of the bush outside Sidney and wonder why it gets burnt down in a forest fire.
Darwin needs to work harder!

this shit really, i mean intensely FUCKS ME OFF. Its just like out my way with Whenuapai Airport. The place has been there for donkeys years, was aucklands main (international) airport til manukau was built, has been military since. Now that some 10,000+ people live in the flight path they want to complain about it being changed back to a commercial airport. It was there before them... if they dont like it FUCK OFF    . personally i like being buzzed by low flying aircraft but thats just me :cool2:

And get this the council now only allows the farmers to spread shit/fertiliser between 0001 and 0300 on days where the wind is below a certain strength and from a certain direction and when the chance of precipitation within the next two days is greater than 70%
Sensible gunnmint anyone???

It's the 'Baby boomers', they are old and crusty now. And have nothing better to do than write letters of complaints into everyone, complaining about everything thing and anything.
Ship them all of into one of those low budget retirement villages, I say.
Let them breathe in the smell of their own urine for 6 months. Then they'll realise how good they had it before.
I dunno why they even bother, honestly.
75% of the people who do complain are over 80 years of age. They don't even go out side anymore, in fear of breaking a hip or being unable to make sure that they are taking up the whole road and driving as slow as possible on Saturdays and Sundays. Or getting a tan on their Liver Spots, and pushing infront of you in ques...FOR FUCK SAKE! I DON'T CARE IF YOUR NEARLY DEAD, BITCH! I WAS HERE FIRST, NO MANNERS, NO QUE JUMPING!!!
They don't even have 100% hearing anymore, if they don't wanna hear shit, turn off your hearing aids!

Good comeback. :killingme
As far as I know, the land is owned by the Auck Council so they will simply refuse to renew the lease agreement for the raceway.
If they raceway operators owned the track they could make a case for existing use rights under the Resource Management Act, although I believe existing use rights do not allow you to cause a nuisance.
And Skyrider, the real moaners here are the fuckwits who bought their home next to a raceway, then complain about the noise.
If the raceway ceases and property values increase, how about the moaners pay any increase in land values they receive to the raceway for the fuckaround.
Im sure Wari's political party would have something to say about this bollocks.
There are a few local residents here in the Hutt who complain about noise from the Port Road Drags - a once a year event that has been going for decades and attracts a lot of people to the city. (Hutt City - A great place to live, work and PLAY) Its about balance and meeting the needs of the community and enthusiasts alike.
So to all the real moaners out there :moon: :finger:

Oh he asked for it...Dumbarse thing to post back. Honestly!
I Guess that they can't really re-new the lease, due to the fact that the Speedway is in a residental area that is growing day by day. Not like Waikaraka Park where the Speedway is based in more of a industrial sector of Onehunga.

You opened up a can of worms with this one Riff Raff!!!
However, sometimes it is "better the devil you know"....etc
One thing for sure is the Auckland City Council will have BIG plans for that very valuable piece of land.

As I mentioned in an earlier thread - Western Springs meetings have been cut to 14 this year, and MOTAT is bringing some of it's rarer planes from Meola Rd and taking over half the car park, there are also some apartments going in,and an access road, dunno much about that one.So the rot has well and truly set in,it won't take much to topple the whole thing - and there is no going back. Then it will be Rosebank and Waikaraka,in that order.
And Ruth,it's not the baby boomers,it's the generation after, they are in their 30s and 40s....or immigrants. The BBs bought up the old villas in the 80s and did them up....then moved out.

I am reminded of a thing that happened to my uncle, who was a dairy farmer in the 80s.
The bank owned a largeish share of his farm (evil b*stards) and decided that the 'quaint' barn ought to be 'redeveloped' and sold to Yuppies, making them a nice tidy profit in the process.
Not only did the new neighbours proceed to chuck cuttings from poisonous shrubs into his paddocks (killing several cows), they also made an official complaint about him driving his cattle past their 'home' in the early hours (you know how it is after a hard night on the champers, darling).
Er... their home, which was smack in the middle of the %$@£££$$ farm yard..! :bash:
