Beaut car but I would hate to believe this vid even for one second. Not that I am cynical at all, but think it might be a bit of a PR/advertising stunt.

Haven't seen the vid, but there are some fast cars out there. It's only numbers, and all it takes for a car to be quicker than a GSXR1000 is to do low 10 1/4's or quicker. Plenty of cars in the world that can do that (albeit not standard).

whilst I agree that this particular video looks a bit suspicious, there is a street legal Viper you can buy called a Hennessey. Twin Turbo, 1100hp, 1500nm. 1550kg.
Although a litre bike will still beat it to 100mph, past that point say goodbye.
0-100mph = 7 secs
0-150mph = 10.5 secs
0-180mph = 15.8 secs
0-200mph = 20.3 secs
(note Bugatti Veyron 0-200mph = 24secs)

That was a turbo viper against a std gixer, how about a turbo'ed busa?
There is another utube of some side by sides with busa's in Mexico and the turbo busa won. For roll ons must come down to power to weight eventually.

Those Vipers are damn quick. . . Put to the test on a road with corners though and I think the result would be different. :scooter:
Vipers ar notorious for not going around corners that, shall we say, well.

The bike's front shocks are not getting light, if it was actually under full throttle this would more than likely happen.
At the end of the day, How much does a stock bike cost and how much did the car cost?

At the end of the day, How much does a stock bike cost and how much did the car cost?Yep... that's some serious money to beat a $20k bike that idles like a corolla

Well I always knew that there are car that would out top-end a litre sports bike bike and European super cars that will out accelerate them too but I'd never have thought a yank muscle car could out accelerate one. Even using a rolling start like this.
Next we'll have bloody HSV's doing it!

But when the HSV's try it the gixxers will not let them win ;)

Yeah, you'll notice he's not doing the races from a standing start. Once those vipers are rolling they have INSANE acceleration. (looks to be turb's or sup'chrd too, see what appears to be a boost gauge going in time with the gear shifts at the end of the clip)
I LOVE vipers, and i will have myself one when i make my millions, but this particular set of circumstances was nicely set to favour the viper.
Chuck them at the twisties, or a standing start drag, and we shall see...

I assume the bike lost on purpose, if you follow the website in the video the guy sells / races high-end cars. PR stunt indeed.

There's another (long) video around of a kick arse supercharged viper racing 3 busas (stock to mildly modified) and a zx12r. The viper nearly kept up with the stock busa (so it's a bloody fast car), but the rest handed it's arse to it in varying degrees. I think it was some guys from sportsbike.com that made it.

That vid is fixed. Upto 100mph a bike will be miles ahead of a supercar. After that, the car will catch up and go past, but I doubt it upto 150mph as the bike would be so far ahead. Mind you, they are doing fast rolling starts, where the car has the advantage, but the bike should still trounce the car - especially in the beginning, no sweat. It's a fix.
