Not a bad idea for a helmet but useless if your riding 2 up.

Just has a browse and this looks like it just might work, 2up would defo be a problem. Was wondering if the new version has address the issue of visibility for sportsbike rider who are leaning far foward as I guess seeing sky is rather detracting from the idea of having a rear view mirror system.

Not many things from the UK are a good idea but this might just be one.

How do ya turn your head inside it to look out the rear window?

Sorry didn't we mention it was designed for people with owl-like neck action!

Tried on of these on at Motorad when Kerry was there and thats a couple of years ago. I was a weird feeling looking up to the little mirror. It felt like I was really taking my focus away from where it really should be.
Like the idea though. Be good for all those 1098 or 998/6 riders that cant see out of there mirrors:devil2:

The mirror positioning looked a little odd to be honest and I agree about looking into it taking your focus off the road ahead. I guess it may equate to turning round to check your blind spot in a car, for a split second you attention is elsewhere and not on what is ahead of you.

Maybe it is one of those habits that you would get used in time and would be able to do without feeling that you were risking plowing into the back of something on the road ahead.

How times fly. That was 2005 when Motorad had one in stock. I liked the look of it but it was a bit pricey.

Here's one of the earlier discussions on it...

I am gonna give them a bell and see just how much they are charging, it a UK company so maybe cheaper over here than over your end (shipping and all that).

Really have to try it before you by it I reckon, it may be initially a little distracting but I think given time you'd get used to it, wont be long and there will be aftermarket set ups available if the idea proves to be popular.

Get a visit from the scary thing from "The Exorcist"

I'd love one of these if they'd help me when backing my bike - I hate maneuvering it backwards in tight spaces with my helmet on 'cos i just can't see behind well enough :weep:

I bought one last year, not impressed. You get used to focussing on the mirror but you must have head in right position, helmet pulled down at front etc. Mirror nowhere near as clear as a glass mirror.
If mirror was a bit bigger, better optics and adjustable angle it would be great. I ended up putting some mirror extenders on my ZRXS, very happy now.

Cheers

It reminds me of the gag Rowen atkinson did about the telephone for the deaf.
