I have a waterproof jacket, and I have waterproof overtrou, so I'm not really missing the rain gear per say.

The problem I have is that after riding in the rain for a while, a sizable puddle builds up in a pouch that forms on the front of my trou....just a natural hollow from sitting.

When this gets to the point that it reaches the waistband, it starts soaking through to my shirt underneath.
So I end up dry everywhere, except round my middle.

I've got noth a long and short jacket, but it seems to make no difference

Do I have to resort to some trout waders, that come all the way up to my armpits??

From time to time, either stand up or move back on the seat to allow the water to run off. Not a permanent solution, but it will help until you get the issue resolved.

Hmmm, ride faster, or in the words of our famous band DRAGON. "Don't you go out in the rain".
