Hello.
Because I have just purchased a new bike, it is time to get rid of the old, and that is the KR250.
Is registered until Jan 14, and as soon as Motorad finally finish it, it will have a new 6 month warranty. It is having its rear tyre replaced.
The condition I would say for a 20 year old bike is reasonably well. It runs, and recently went on a trip with me to Gisborne with no problems. Can get about 240km to a tank of gas.
As for price, well I am flexible.

How did I know someone would ask for pictures. Will do so when I can get my laptop to go ( a day or so )
Well, how does the KR compare. It is like my baby. The first bike I owned and rode.
Speed, the KR 2 smoker wins hands down. I have successfully attained 150km/h running 91 on that bike. Got over 200k before reaching reserve. With some proper care and love, she will do anyone who gets her some marvellous things, except for cooking dinner.
She has had her Left handle clamp replaced. New tail bulb and same for the indicator light. And has had a new speed demon tyre fitted to the rear.
As for handling. That prize goes to the GSX :first: . She is fantastic around corners as well as stopping and all that hooplah.
The KR also comes with two spare front forks, a spare fairing frame and another dash board.
For 20years old, it is still a solid bike.
As for the photos, as I said, will get them up as soon as I can.

what price range are you flexable around? would you drop off at the shipping company if I organised the shipping? how would this bike do as a first bike ( it seems this was your first, so i might be okay)?

Price, that is the thing I am really flexible around. Because it is not much of an issue, because it is not exactly like I have to go out and by anything more for riding.
What sort of price were you looking at? What is your budget, and have you allocated room in your budget for all the ancillary stuff like protective gear?
As for a first bike. If you have a strong leg, yeap, no worries (it is a kick start) I managed to get up to Gisborne and back, and even though it was a long trip, 10 hours as I was pacing, it was great to see what the bike could do.
And it would probably do with a service.
And remember, it has a new tyre fitted to the back as well. :sunny:
As for taking it to a shipping company, yeah, no worries. I will deliver it to Wellington and outlying suburbs, or take it wherever it needs to go.
I will even take it up to Auckland, but somebody has to pay for me to fly back :niceone:

I had a KR-250 once (tandem-twin).
Great bike, used to keep the NSR boys honest and once even saw 185km/h indicated going to the Brass Monkey.
Thoroughly recommend them, very reliable.
Cheers
Chris.

well I like it but then some might call me a bit strange.
notorious for bad starting, kickstart only, small front wheel, but pretty quick for a 250. you definitly looking at a KR250 not a KR1? As in a tandem twin not a parrallel twin?

I found the kick-starting was a knack you developed. Would never fire on the first kick, always the second, almost like the first kick primed it.
Yeah moved around in the front under hard acceleration, but then so did my RZ-500 (a lot worse !!)
Plus sides - quite comfortable and good riding position, even for long trips, decent power (for the time) not as peaky as an RG-250, and very different noise (read:great though) , sort of a cross between a flat v-twin sound and a parallel twin scream.
I'd buy another one again if a good deal came up.
Cheers
Chris

Ummm. Ramius sold the KR an eon ago, bought a GSX250, had a nasty accident and broke his pelvis plus a few internal injuries, and has only just recuperated.
I am thinking that whatever boat there was, sailed some time ago.
