Well done that DuckMan:) Sooo ... where are you going today to celebrate .. I rather like Pyes Pa Rd myself. Nice loop from Whakatane, down through Rotorua Lakes and up Pyes Pa to Tauranga and back home down the coast, 238 km – about 3 hours 38 mins :)

But i have found an improvment. From whakatane go to matata, up the inland road to the rotorua lakes then around. Adds about 60kms of tight winding roads to it :):):)

On you!
If you hang about on your learners too long your bike refuses to start.
Take the L plate of and it's all good!
Remember that folks.

use the handbrake, rev its tits off and rip the clutch out . . . very effective but a right bastard to perfect, just ride around the block. Its safer.

With appropriate gear i feel it is perfectly safe to do a u-turn

Well it's probably too late to start thinking of new tricks now but the way I do it is to feather the clutch all the way around. I just maintain a constant slightly high idle and just feed the clutch in and out to maintain momentum or tighten the turn.
It works for me but it may not work for you - do what feels comfortable.
