Had a blast through the Forest, did some tree hugging and then of to Opo left the team there and 4 of us did a quick trip to Kaikohe and then Twin bridges then deposited Tanya and Todd back at SH1 at Portland and pointed them south to Auckland.
Fantastic day.

Haven't had a decent long ride like that in ages, what a great way to celebrate my first weekend off in 6 weeks! Big cheers to Archer for playing with my suspension (despite having several aching joints on strike tonight, musta been payback for taking you on those looooooooooooong straights home aye) and thanks for the heads up on the way home :msn-wink:  Glad you guys had fun hugging trees, hope the others all have a safe ride over the rest of the weekend.

Oops, pushed 'enter', dah?
Would like to thank you all for a great wee buzz up to Wellsford this AM. Helped Natalie's confidence, getting back into it and all. She said she felt safe riding with you lot at speed, and can't wait for next time.
When we left you lot, went across to Goat Island. Wow, apparently highest tide in six years, according to the ranger.
Down to Puhoi for a "cup of tea and a scone". Then home (west) taking in ridge rd and coatsville rd.
Once again thank-you from us both and hope we can join you again sometime.
Cheers,
Jacko

Fantastic day.
What a day.... 11 hours of riding and loved it. I was so fing tired though when I got home! Toto says 600+ks for us today. After we left you we went to Puhoi then home. Youll be happy to know I was kissing my mirrors and yes makes a big difference. My corners are smoother and I go faster :)
Me and toto were talking bout that corner you pointed out to us THANKYOU that corner would have collected me for SURE.
Ive decided Palmastern North is a 500 k ride. Easy to do in one day, be similar to what we did today....so instead of two days Im going to do it in 1 so if anyones going down to the Harley rally on Friday 15th Feb I will be killing it so join me.
Yesterday truely was what its all about. The ride with the nets was great, an awesome bunch and thanks Brendon and your lovely better half...hehehehe.....for leading us astray on an even longer prettier awesome route :)

Hey dudes, when we took off from Wellsford on the way up on saturday, I noticed that my left foot peg had dropped. By the time we stopped at paparoa I was having real trouble getting my bike to select gears, and struggled with it all the way home.
Andy had a look at it when I got home and said the footpeg was so bent that it had to have had a decent impact. WTF???? If my bike fell over then i'd expect other damage but all seems to be ok. Can only wonder if someone else's bike fell on it? But I only left my bike for a couple of minutes when I went across the road to the public loo. And I assume someone would have told me if something had happened to it. Anyone know anything???????

Hey Draco can't recall your bike going down or taking an impact. Would have been obvious to the dozen or so people only meters away. Ask Archer I thought he wus fiddlin' with the suspension at that stage.

That looks like a great trip. Haven't really done much at all North of Aucks... how long would that trip be (kms)? ballpark is fine

1000 Ks in one day is a big ask Tania (some would disagree) ...you would have to average 100 kph (without a stop) just to complete in it in ten hours (an hour less than the Northern ride) And that would all take place on SH1??
Riding there and back would take more like 12 hours non stop with an average overall speed of 80kph, throw in a couple of stops and the time out there may tweak up to 14 -15 hours thats with and hour at Palmmy before you saddle up again (depending on if your arse has popped back into shape)

500km I'd expect. I did SH16 to Wellsford, Te Hana, Mangawhai, Laings Beach, Waipu Cove, Waipu, Whangarei & back to Auckland via SH1 (running short of time since I only left to go after 2pm) last Saturday and that was 400km, I think. I tend not to pay any real attention to the mileage.

Nah, I didnt touch the rear suspension till Dargaville.
I dont think there was even a bike next to yours at Wellsford Jen?
I had a quick look at Wellsford on the way back, and it looked to me as if the gear selector had bent down, like a gear change with too much force or something. Didnt look that hard at it though
