hello all, new to biking.

Buying a honda CB250 hornet 2001 which has a fixed front left indicator, it stays on with the main head lamp (daylights), while the right is off.

when indicating, both indicator work as normal (blinks).

the guy selling it, says its normal and that he has rung honda and they say thats standard but do not kno the reason behind it.

is it normal? or is it broken? seems dangerous to me. its basically asking someone to turn right in front of you.

opinions or knowledge please. cheers.

A few import bikes have erm... I'm thinking the words `running lights' but that's not quite right. What happens is when the headlights are on, so are the indicators -- until you use the indicators and the appropriate ones flash as normal. Perhaps it's only the left one because the right-hand side one is fecked and is missing a wire for these running light thingies, but as normal for flashing.

Wild guess.

gah! Sounds like an invitation to being an impromptu hood ornament for sure!

And it being standard? I don't think so Tim! Have you rung Honda yourself? Worse comes to worse, nothing a little handy home rewiring can't fix?

Gosh knows I've had to work and rewire the lights on my little ol'hornet many a time!

rang honda and all. and the technicians agrees with us. said in japan or states, some regulations for indicator lights to stay on too, but both has to be on, not just one.

said either the wiring is bad or maybe the wrong bulbs replaced, meant to be a double filament bulb.

anyways, easy fix, either get both to stay on. or just cut the good light off, leaving the indicating to work, of course..

thanks heaps for the replies.
