I've just been paid out for my stolen FXR150 and now I'm looking to upgrade to a 250. I'm pritty sure I want either a CBR250 (probably RR) or a ZXR250.
Could people please give me their advice as to which they think is better. I havn't ridden either yet but definatly like the feel and look of the ZXR over the CBRs.
I appologise if there is another thread comparing these two bikes. If there is could someone please point me to it.

Same shit different day. CBR's are good, so are the ZXR's. Go with what tickles your fancy. Just make sure it aint too badly abused

God has entered.
GO THE ZXR.....
CBR.....shit suspension.... riding position is screwy....screens too high etc etc....
ZXR.....decent suspension.....riding position perfect.....alot more feel for the road. and alot more adjustment suspension wise.
some will say CBR has more power...it's bullshit ive drag raced many mates on cbr's with me on my zxr and the bikes are side by side the entire way.
the only upside is that the cbr have cam gears where as the zxr has a cam chain....this and the cam chain tensioner will need replacing every 40,000 km's.. if this needs doing you are looking at $400-$500 depending where you go. where as cam gears will never need replacing.
but 40,000k's is a bloodey long way.
and if you own a honda, people are going to call you a homo a honda fag etc etc.
it's just the way it is.
if you do go the cbr go at least MC21 or MC22 the MC17's and 19's etc are absolute rubbish. and are in no way comparable to a ZXR the MC21 and MC22 CBR's were around the same time as the ZXR's the older cbr's ...(pre MC21) are nothing like the same bike to ride as the newer cbr's and a zxr.
personally i say go the zxr due to the suspension. but each to thier own.
also check out the brake discs when buying. as these are $330 a pop if they are buggered......this is on both zxr and cbr.
if they are too low you will fail WOF.
and either way when it comes to ya next set of tyres goto mt eden mc's and get yourself some Dunlop GPR-A10's $450 for the set fitted.
tyres and brakes are your life. they are the one thing to never save a buck on.
go the dunlops. (demonstrated below) lol
hope that helps with your decision.

Yea thanks for the advice! I definatly like the riding position better on the ZXRs over the CBR250RRs but I've only sat on them and not ridden either yet. Good to know what to look out for as this will be my second bike so I don't have a lot of experience.
Keep the advice coming.

Performance wise its all much of a muchness. The zxr is bigger physically and there both made for little asians so unless your a midget you would probably be better off on the zxr

I am a midget actually hahaha. Well not actually but I'm quite short. I will try and take both for a ride and see what I like better.

The MC21 are Honda NSR250 and MC22 are the CBR250RRRRRR. That is the model you should get...if you decide a CBR

There is no real differance. I like my mc22. Its just great.
Ive ownd both a zxr and a cbr, and there is no REAL differance.
being a kawa fan, i'd rather the zxr if i had the choice.

My mate took my CBR for a ride yesterday after riding a zxr for a couple of years and his comments included "f'ng awesome, sweet bike, engine pushes harder than my zxr". Though I guess everyone's opinions could be clouded due to the two bikes not being in the same mechanical condition but that's gonna be the same for all comparisons of non-new bikes.
Also this guy is pretty tall and didn't feel uncomfortable at all.

Blonde or brunette? It's pretty much all about taste. If you prefer one badge over the other, go for it. They're pretty comparable bikes when it comes down to it.

Oh, what we we talking about?
Definitely women. Or was it beer? Mmm, beer. Tui or Speights? Stella or Heiniken? Mmm, women. God damnit, now I'm all confused...

I just remembered I had recently paid for the registration of my bike so I called LTSA to see if I could get a refund for the remaining months the bike is registered for. They said because the bike will change ownership to the insurance company that its their issue. Should they have paid me out for the remaining months of registaration as well as the bike? I guess they have to pay to deregister the bike so maybe it balances out.
I'm already a little annoyed with them coz they said they were going to cover my gloves which were under the seat when it was stolen and then went back on that saying it wasn't in the policy.
Although I've received the cheque the bike is still registered in my name so I should really get onto the insurance company to hurry up and change it.
I know its not much money but the more I can get to spend on a new bike the better.

:Offtopic: But yeah...insurance companies are weasels!
Better than my last job though that fell through, working as a salesman they said they'd just write off anything I couldn't sell or turned bad, in the end I had to quit due to the shit job and they came back saying that they could charge me me so much because I didn't sell it but they wouldn't cause they were so nice (yeah right!), and then gave me $0 for a whole week's work.
