Another non-windy day in Wellytown then?

The sign clearly shows that bikes should be vertical, but what happens if you stack them like firewood???:blip:

Lucky they didn't get a ticket for improper parking!

But by the looks of those pics most Welly bikers wimped out while the scooter riders still got out there.

By the way, my bike stayed upright. Its all in the TECHNIQUE.

With the huge number of bikes & scooters that park at the Lambton Square entry of The Terrace park today it would only have taken a tipped bike/scooter at one end to domino the rest. That would have been a shite of a mess to untangle.

Can't believe you guys are laughing at these bikes! I bet it would be a different story if it was your bike lying on its side.

I've got a bike with a dodgy side stand so this is my fear every time I park up. Personnally, I feel sorry for these riders, yes, I even feel sorry for the owners of the scooters (for more than one reason).

You heartless bastards :nono:

I've been trying to mentally design a kind of tripod thing that you'd carry around folded up and then "erect" under your swingarm bobbins when you park.

(One of the cost cutting measures on the Z750S is the lack of centre-stand...)

Anyone seen something like this? (So I can steal the design.)

(Wouldn't help scooters. Would take up more parking space.)

Actually, that's an excellent way to park 'em: they can't get damaged from falling over. :niceone:

well unless they live under a rock! they should have known there was going to be high winds. we were warned there would be gusts of 130kmph on the news.
notice all the bikes were not parked there? just scooters!

Yup.
These are all light and tend to fall over easily in strong winds. Strangely enough Wellytown has strong winds...

I think the best way to park them is to chain them to a lamp post by the front wheel. That way they can be like a boat at anchor and "swing" with the prevailing winds!

Saw all these as I was walking to the train station yesterday, felt kinda sorry for the poor wee scooters.

Did notice it was mostly only the scooters fallen and no bigger bikes, wondered if it might have been because they were too light.

Thought I was guna get a bit blown over landing in Welly yesterday when I saw the forecast, but turned out to be quite calm (big :2thumbsup to the pilots)

is there any tips for parking in the wind?

Got my 250 blown against my 800 about 1-2 weeks ago in another typical Wellington day. I was lucky, they were close enough, so none of the bike was damaged.
