Check out the first question and answer.
Do they really, cause if they do its the first i've heard of it. Or is this guy just talking shit and covering up for the fact that its been dropped.

mmm my gut would say he is taking a chance... haven't seen any in NZ... but do know of a few in the states...

heres a link to the US hyo site, the 650 comes in a 1/2 fairing

http://www.hyosungmotorsusa.com/

have a look at the frame for marks where the bottom mount goes for the fairing...

Did just post saying the guy was a twat, but I've just noticed that black bit of fairing that makes it look similar to the 650S. Could be the half fairing version of he's found some aftermarket piece.

You would think if it was a true half-faired they would have the brand decal on it somewhere, rather than just the default "Hyosung" on the tank.

I would be wary mate.

24th January 2008, 13:57
I may be captain obvious here, or I may just be stupid. But that IS a GT250R minus the fairing. They already have a GT250 with no fairing and that's not it.

I see he has two unanswered questions, would been interesting to see what the questions are and what his respone will be.

Also it has two hundred and something veiws. I don't remember the exact number it was when I started this thread, but it was pretty low. He must be thinking he really popular

It wouldnt be way out there for a different bike to have been dropped and they took the fairings off this one to fix the other one and sell this one 1/2 naked?

I dont know. I cant see any marks or anything to indicate its been dropped.

Damn ugly without fairings though.

I have seen a red one up here same as that, think they are marketed as tourers in the States. it had a big fuck-off screen on it too.

24th January 2008, 21:58
Mmm, mark on frame looks like it is frome where the fairing mates with the frame.
Also top fairing has locator pegs... Not likely if this is a genuine half faired bike.

DingoZ
24th January 2008, 22:03
Looks a lot like My GT250R when I was halfway through taking the fairings off to clean it the other day. Is just an ordinary GT250R with the bottom fairings off it......

Notes:
Banner on home page shows a half faired 650 with tube chasis.
There is no mention of a half faired 250.

Look closely at the pic of the US model, there is actually a small peices on the top fairing, this is not present on the one this guy is selling.

Blatent lie.

25th January 2008, 23:22
The half faired 650 has full bars too...though I have heard that this can be different on canadian models.

Does seem like something anyone has ever heard of, so it must be a fake

He's even calling a GT250R still....not a GT250S which is what a half faired version would probably be called.

EJK
25th January 2008, 23:25
Indeed! It is a GTR without the bottom half fairings.

motorbyclist
25th January 2008, 23:36
blatantly removed lower half of fairings

either he got ripped off, or he's ripping someone else off, or both

Sneaky fuck. Lucky im a detective.

this bike was purchased out of auckland motodepot, arrived with 1/2 fairings fitted, bike has been re-registraed and been through the tough engineers report and is straight and the scratches have been professionally repaired and painted, everything done correctly and all past, no worse than the insurance company fixing your bike if it fell over, but they can't fix the scratches they must purchase new parts, huge difference in fixing price.
its a good bike......how it had 1/2 fairing when it arrived i have know idea, but its factory because of the black side skirt.....

its about 12 inchs long and it fits on bottom of fairing to give it a finish, its a factory part......

dave_a
7th February 2008, 11:26
the guy selling that is a crook.

If I was to buy a bike especially at that price I would definatly want to know that it has been made out of two crashed bikes.

Bikes that have been crashed before are never worth anywhere near as much as non crashed bikes, and imagine if you brought that then found out two months later it was all parts from crashed bikes, Wouldnt be very nice

Bollocks! Theres no such thing as a half faired model of the 250, why dont you just be straight up with people

So which part of the bike has done the 1100km then?

If the bike is in such a top notch condition why avoid the questions relating to its history?

Exactly. And if it is a so called half faired model why would the guy buy the fairings? Because everyone knows that the bike is being misrepresented as half faired.

I reported the Auction. To be selling a bike that is made of of wrecked bikes without mentioning it to prospective buyers, and dodging all related questions is just dangerous.

What a scumbag. I also sent a message to the bidder who said he was going to buy it tomorrow.

Wait and see what happens......

Guess what has magically reappeared yet again ;)

This time its a general listing so you can't ask any questions, he's reduced the price and I like how he is now saying the "last owner did drop it and its been correctly fixed"

I wonder which of the two bikes this is made out of is the previous owner he is referring to :)
